But, fun!
It is fun, and there's a Japanese version  :D

One of my fave movies is Roadhouse. Totally underrated.

All these drunk chicks getting naked while while everybody else kicking each other’s asses, and the whole time this rockin’ live blues band never misses a beat. And Jackie Treehorn fucking with everybody.

Classic!

You didn't mention Sam.
It's on AMC today. The edited for teevee version. Bleh.

A cult classic for sure. I remember watching it on VHS (1990?) at my then girlfriend’s place the first time I stayed over.

Right?

Go figure two of the Roadhouse cast members went on to star in The Big Lebowski.

But this time, instead of being the sage old cowboy at the bar, he’s the sage old...um, professional bouncer?

Ok cool let’s roll with it. Tell the band to start another tune!

i really enjoy the Progressive Dr. Rick/turning into your parents commercials

and the Liberty Mutual Emu commercials

kinda odd, that it seems like all of a sudden the best commercials are for insurance

It’s crazy just how many commercials are for insurance.

I wonder what portion of the average monthly premium goes straight to ad budgets...

A lot of money in insurance - ad production budget in the millions.
Liberty's jingle is one of the worst out there.

replace that M with a B

so in effect we pay insurance companies more so they can buy media to tell us to buy more insurance

I wonder how it would go if you called like Progressive and said, I already know about you guys and have a plan through you guys so really no need to advertise any further. So will you guys knock 3.8% off my premium if I promise to never watch one of your commercials again?

I Care A Lot (Netflix)

somewhat surprisingly, kept me engaged (and awake) past my normal bedtime

i was pissed right up until the final scene, then felt good about how it ended

So pissed (until the final scene). Can't remember the last time a movie made me angry.

you and me both

i haven’t looked yet, but am curious if that was entirely a work of fiction, or if that scam is an actual thing

I keep seeing ads for Paramount + featuring a bunch of stuff I don't really care about and "Live Sports" with a shot of Mahommie. Are they going to have exclusive Chefs games?
