I've talked about this vis a vis the NY Stormy Daniels case - these cases that get at Trump's fundamental vanity (his sexual prowess; his business "success") are great appetizers for the main course (election stuff and espionage stuff) precisely because they trigger his insecurities and make him do and say stupid things.
