Who knows of he would have passed it out.
Ref called a bullshit foul to end the posession.

How many days are you going to continue this meltdown?

It's a day after the game.
A game that we blew but even blowing it, we likely could have won, but the official changed the outcome.
So, I think it's a valid talking point...something you rarely bring to the table. And when you do, usually it's with some sort of insult, which is pretty tiresome imo.

Anyone have another angle of the foul?
Hard to tell from that view.
And yeah, holy shit Dajuan. No respect cuz dude is 0 fer 4 this year from deep.
I thought we were done with the non-shooting threat guards?

That type of contact happens multiple times in every game across the country and doesn't get called. It's bigs battling for position.
DMac's 30 lbs bigger than the guy, guy reaches in across Dave's body for the steal, Dave shoulders the dude and he flops backwards.
Not a foul.
Silly.

Ticky tack, at the very least, especially at that point in the game
As for me, I’m just bummed my favorite player didn’t keep the ball and just take it hard to the rack for more nuts to face….
….then we loose the game on more technical free throws.
But it woulda been worth it

It was almost as bad as TRob's charge when we lost at Mizzou in 12.
Almost.
That one was really bad.

I don't think it should have been called a foul...BUT you can't slam into the guy and try to knock him over as your post move in that situation. You can't put the ref in a position to have to swallow his whistle.
Either way, it's Self's fault. Dumb play. Dumb lineup on the floor. Dumb 2nd half of coaching altogether. Completely abandoned any sort of normal rotation.

He wasnt slamming into a guy to knock him over. He was doing what tens of thousands of college post men have done before which is to back into a player to create space.
The play is posted on this thread.
Did we forget how post basketball is played all of a sudden? If Dok had made the same move and was called for the same thing, posters here would be loosing it.

Soo
We like, already knew our center was kind of a liability.
And despite cashing in at the transfer portal for guards, our best effort in the frontcourt was…quickly signing a D2 guy who was destined to redshirt anyway?
We already know what we got in Mitch.
And Zach has been a pleasant surprise. And might even crack the rotation this year! But history suggests a true freshman big is getting little more than mop up minutes from here on out.
But - hot take! Dave’s gonna be fine. He’ll chill out and settle into his productive role even quicker than he did last year.
That, or Jalen at the 5 pls.
Christian too!
Being our current best glass man and all.
*giggles like a schoolgirl*

I think Clemence will have a better career than Dave but Dave is our best center. And hes a top 20 center in the nation. Hes just not playing like it to start the season ( again. )

I also think much of the problem is Self has been mailing it in coaching wise for a while now.
Sure you look good with all Merican point guards and centers
But at some point you gotta accept your big man is a spaz and you can’t just keep pounding it in to him like he shoots 75 thousand percent from the field.

Are you cool with force feeding Dave?
He’s too prone to like, committing dumb offensive fouls and shit

Its early in the season.
He knows our best team is if Dave finds his form, that includes "force feeding" him, which we didn't do yesterday.
And did you just not watch January, February and March where Dave was our best player? He wants that, a B12 POY Remy, and an actual B12 POY Ochai.
That can happen.

And that wasnt an offensive foul.

That last play was totally a force feed.
Dave was spastic enough to come out to the mid range instead of just putting his guy on his hip down low
And Christian Braun, as brilliant and handsome as he is, actually listened to the coach and stuck to the play instead of taking matters into his own hands and doing homosexual things to the D at the rim

Yeah, Dave is gonna settle into conference Dave sooner than conference play this year.
But last night he was mercurial Dave.
And instead of realizing it, Self ran a play from him with the game on the line.
Derp.
