I'd much rather tune into the 4th quarter of an ISU ksu football game than the last 2 innings of, say, White Sox v the Twins.
Depends on the Royals' standings. I remember watching many AL and AL Central games 2013-2016, and having score alerts on 6-7 teams. NL can take a hike tho.

I didn’t say it was most boring, just that it’s not compelling to me. Neither is KU-ISU football, as a rule. Guess both things can be true.
Baseball, though, ruined in last 10 years (it’s just an opinion) by analytics.
Get off my lawn.
And to ESPY’s, it’s usually a bad show. This year was particularly awful.
Gqcolorado wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2020 9:15 am is by far the most boring sports presentation going.

Haha, I’m so dumb I’m reading your arguments as mine.

I'd counter by saying it's just the same as depends on KU football's standings, but LOLZ.

2007, I watched every top 25 game I could.
The same reason I watch a lot of Top 25 CBB every season, other teams' standings matter to my team. That's when the sport is most fun.

More of a commentary on how long ago that was and how it's not a factor.
In 2007 I had just moved to Williamsburg right off the Bedford L stop in an apartment that I imagine is renting for 5k a month now ( and with the rooftop view blocked by all the Kent Ave skyscrapers ).

Gotcha. Yeah, college football has lost a lot of luster since Big Mark left.

This will be a difficult season to manage if they keep it alive - a lot of make up games in the future.

The virus is not going to miraculously just stop and go away because sports are starting up again.
As much as it pains me to say and I DON'T want it to happen, it's probably best if MLB and all team sports would/should be DONE for the rest of 2020.

Why wasn’t playing the season at ST sites considered more seriously? I get that they are in Zona and Fla, states heavily impacted but still. This may have helped limit travel and potential spread...

Was a quick season. Hopefully NFL learns from MLB's mistakes.

It would go a long-ass way if, for example, Mahomes was on local TV ads telling people that if they want football, they need to mask up.

I imagine it going as well as his #BLM plea. Those who are inclined to believe experts are already going to be wearing a mask. Those who aren't are just going to say "shut up and throw a pass."
Toothpaste is already out of the tube on the polarization of mask-wearing. Perhaps not attacking masks for five months by half the country would've been smart.

Sounds like the goal is to get to about .600 then purposely getting COVID

Yup.
Royals need to win their next two games and then stop playing for a while.

I was thinking about this earlier. I think you need to establish some sort of "qualification". Say, you must complete at least 75% of the number of games as the league leader.

Any doubleheaders this summer will be 7-inning games to help speed up the games.

This series is so disappointing. Blown 3-run lead, and blown 4-game lead. Should be 5-2, but 3-4 instead. Difference between 15-6 and 9-12.
