9mm is the most used cartridge in the world.

I have 4 9mm weapons. They are perfect for the shitshow, you can easy utilize the rounds that guys like Psych drop.

You went into it with unreasonable expectations...

If anyone is looking for this type of weapon for their own defense, I highly recommend this one.
https://www.smith-wesson.com/product/response

It can use S&W or Glock magazines. These are the 2 most likely to be found in the wild.

9mm will have dramatically more knock down power than a .223, with an effective range of about as far as most people would attain a target.

Somebody with really bad aim?

If my aim was that bad (it is), I'd just use a 12 gauge shotgun for home protection. Pretty hard to miss someone down a hallway with one of those.

Do you want to get shot while you are reloading?

Seriously, in tactical training, you head count the number of rounds you heard the closest weapon fire. If you visually saw an assault rifle, you can assume 20-30 rounds. If you saw a handgun, you count 10-12. A pause after these intervals is considered an opportunity for offensive engagement.

I use S&W M&P (military and police) 9mm handguns with double stack. 17 rounds total with no visible magazine hanging below the grip.
Home defense is a KSG, 14 rounds 12 gauge, .00 on one side and slug on the other.

So, if you get into a fire fight with me and I am using a handgun, your count should be 17. I will most likely know yours.
A firefight with my shotgun, it doesn't really matter, I can remove most any barrier between us with the first 6.

Jesus died at age 33
there's thirty-three shots
From twin Glocks there's sixteen apiece, that's thirty-two
Which means, one of my guns was holdin' 17

I've had a gun pulled on me twice. It's a singular feeling.

Apparently posting the Ten Commandments in the hallway and having a Bible in the building doesn't make all children magically behave well after all. Shocking.

Same. Got held up at gunpoint in the downtown St. Louis Greyhound bus station in broad daylight. Quite unnerving, especially when you have to tell them you have a grand total of maybe $5 on you.
