Better question is if Rand Paul is ever not an a-hole. You don’t see any problem with him objecting to a bill which passed unanimously? TWICE?? Even Ted Cruz is ok with the bill!!
I think it’s telling a lot about you!

Per Lawyers, Chauvin was a training officer, and one of the arrested officers was on Day 4 of being on the force. Another, it was his third shift as a full-fledged officer. Not Nice situation they are in. I hope they get some leniency.

Paul is a Libertarian. His principles are not going to make everybody happy. I don’t equate that with his character or worth, but I know some do.
Lulz. Mooch is a two-bit scumbag until he joins the other side. Now he is a prophet.

PAGING DR.PEPPER......
I'm curious as to what's your take on this.
Let's see, the Buffalo Police Department LIED about the 75 year old man. Then they suspended TWO Officers for their "role" - forgetting all the other Officers who just looked and walked away, and now ALL 57 of the members of the Buffalo Police Department's Emergency Response Team resigned in response to the suspension - which at first makes them seem like assholes but if you read the article (link below) it makes SOME sense.
Buffalo Police Benevolent Association President John Evans is STILL saying - "He did slip in my estimation. He fell backwards". RIGHT! AFTER he was clearly pushed with force.

Pushing someone to the ground does no more to "clear the area" than if they had walked around him as if he was invisible. What a bullshit excuse. Turn the guy around, point him to the exit and shoosh him on his way. For fucks sake.

Grandma frustration today. City of Chicago related. It's a perfect day weather-wise.
TODAY (and for the past few months) city residents and visitors to the city are NOT allowed to use the lake front beaches, parks, and trails/paths due to Coronavirus concerns.
TODAY city residents and visitors to the city are allowed (and are actually being somewhat encouraged) to congregate in Grant Park to "protest/demonstrate".
So..... The possible 10s of thousands if not a 100,000 people in Grant Park are immune to the virus but the people who want to jog, bike, walk along the lake front are a bigger risk of spreading the virus?
Child please!
The other big issue is people are going to be pissed off that city and the Mayor have made it extremely difficult to get around the city today with all the street closures. "People" being myself included.

My guess is it will be argued that ‘the man’ is trying to move the flock to one centralized location to keep feared destruction localized to a smaller area.
It’s all gross.

The problem is in this case "the man" is a Black woman and she's going to get a lot of grief from those who oppose her when the inevitable spike hits - and the "shut downs" come back and/or remain in place.
I know I'm not going to be happy.
She's basically fucked no matter what. One of the many reasons why I feel you're nuts to want to be a Mayor, Governor, or the President. It's ALWAYS a no win situation for you.

Just had a very brief conversation with my mother.
She asked and said, "When is all this going to stop. It's enough already. Didn't they bury him yesterday".
I snapped at her and said, "I don't know when it is going to stop but you just don't get it".
She said, "I do get it".
I said, "Obviously you don't if you are saying didn't they bury him yesterday. It's not about HIM".
She got upset and asked, "Why are you yelling at me"? (I wasn't yelling and I don't know why people accuse me of yelling when I'm not). I told her, "I'm not yelling at you but if you have to ask, it's because you don't get it - and it seems you don't care enough to want to get it - and to be blunt it pisses me off".
Silence.
Her - "ok, ok, ok."
Me - "It's not ok, ok, ok, but let's move on because we're not getting anywhere with this conversation".
Very upsetting to me that I had that conversation with her and on that note, I'm heading to Grant Park, I'll wear a mask while I'm there, and I will "socially/physically" distance the best I can.
