Michigan might have played themselves out of a 1 seed - if they don't win the Big 10 Tourney.

Tournament starting to shape up.
I say "Give me Liberty or give me - Morehead".

Morehead is just down the road from me. I know a few of their grads. Nice campus.
Home to Kim Davis.

Scott Drew: Big 12 COY, of course.

Pull that mask down and infect.

Especially if you consider Nov. 15 to present:

I’d say that’s accurate.

Och's first half of the season was pretty consistent, but that's just not the jump we were looking for. Thought all offseason that his progression was the x-factor.

I'm surprised Garrett made 2nd team but good on him.
DMac deserves most improved - big jump from sophomore to junior year.
Garrett doesn't get the DPOY for Big 12: Davion Mitchell.

Wonder what the vote totals were on this one:

Wow.
Cade wins B12POY over Butler.
That's a fail.

Butler 3rd in scoring, 1st in assists, 1st in steals, 2nd in FG%, 2nd in 3FG%.
Maybe the missed games hurt him here.

Also Braun gets an honorable mention but Jalen Wilson ( though he makes the All-Freshman team ) doesn't.

Pull that mask down and infect.

So this year it's "who's team won the league" and not "who over performed relative to their preseason expectations" like it is every year that Bill Self and KU win the Big 12? Makes sense.

Not too sure what parameters constitute someone being crowned the most improved but based on STATS, the guy really hasn't improved all that much.

2020: 6.2 PPG, 4.1 RPG, 53% FG season / 5.6 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 46% FG conference play.

2021: 13.4 PPG, 6.1 RPG, 51% FG season / 14.2 PPG, 6.3 RPG, 54% FG conference play ( led conference in FG% ).

Before you say "well he's just taking more shots", know that he's now the focus of defenses, playing against first units most of the game, and then also look at the increase of FG% in conference play from 2020 to 21.

I wasn't going to say he's taking more shots. I was going to say he's playing 23 minutes a game compared to 14.7 last season.
Your pointing out the differences in defenses, the caliber of guys he's going up against, and his increase in conference FG% is very valid.
I suppose since it's a conference award I should put a lot more value on his conference stats.
Therefore, indeed he has shown vast improvement.

They always screw these awards up.

At least Cunningham and OSU played 18 games though.

Sub .500 in conference Appy State makes the tournament.

4-7 in conference Elon won tonight and will play in the CAA Championship. It might be against 4-5 in conference Drexel.

5-13 in conference Rider beat Canisius.

1 seed in the Summit conference tournament South Dakota State lost.

If you’re a high seed - 1 through maybe even a high 3 - you want the low seeds to upset each other in their conference tourney.

It forces 16s where teams may have been 15s and might move what should be a 15 up to a 14.

If you’re a 4 or 5, you don’t want this because it means you’re at large team may be better than it could have been.
