Scott Drew lost to a lower seed than we did and we were down our best player.

I had a friend (and Baylor alum) predict this before our game yesterday:
"KU, Baylor, and Houston are better than most of these teams but are so beaten down from the conference season, that they're not going to be around long."

I used to always think playing in the big 12 was an advantage, the tough nightly games prepared the teams for the ncaa.
But if so many teams are limping into the postseason after the big 12 grind, maybe it's not?

Interesting. I don't see a swoosh. I wonder why they didn't want Nike to make them.

I would assume because Nike would want to take a percentage which means less money to the players.

Maybe.
My guess is Nike has a much better marketing team than whoever manufactures and sells those shirts and could sell a lot more of them? Notice how I ended that sentence with a ?
Anyways, had a very brief conversation with a couple the other night in regards to their kid applying to schools. They said Boulder is as popular as ever. I said I assumed it was super popular pre Deion but that has to make it even tougher to get accepted. Let that sink in. Deion Sanders is what makes some kids want to attend a school?
I remember applying to Miami (THE U) in 1983. Got a letter back saying they had a record number of applicants that year. Why? They won the National Championship. Yep, kids wanted to attend a school because of Football. Academics? Nah, not so much.

in that Miami heat? probably...though pretty humid. Steamed doesn't sound as good.

Damn good question. Probably only because it is in Miami and the football team was good.
Where I applied and where I got accepted (and denied) made little sense when I look back at it. I NEVER thought I was going to go to KU until I visited the campus on a perfect spring day. Was near the bottom of my list of where I wanted to go.
As I have said too often, I was a TERRIBLE student (lower 10% of my 1064 (or was it 1067?) classmates) and was accused of cheating on the ACT because I scored WAY over what they felt I should have. I was diagnosed with a learning disability (basically verbal dyslexia - give me a phone number verbally and I get about 4 numbers right in the right place/s but write it down and I look at it - I remember all 10 numbers) AFTER High School.
I applied to over 20 schools. Off the top of my head what I remember....
KU - visited - accepted
Tulane - accepted (had an "in" - otherwise would not have been accepted)
CU - accepted
UofDenver - accepted (college advisor told me (and my parents) it would be the best school for me)
UNC - denied
UMiami - denied
AZ - accepted
ASU - accepted
UCLA - denied (was told other UofCA schools would accept me)
New Mexico - accepted
UIC - accepted and could have gone for free
Illinois - accepted (don't know if my "in" mattered or not)
Northwestern - did NOT apply but could have been accepted in a "special program" due to an "in".
In keeping with Scott Drew sucks - I did NOT apply to Baylor (or Valpo).
