this has to be one of the worst, most inconsiderate things people do
i don’t care what is coming out of the speaker of your phone…a conversation, music, a sermon, etc., put some fucking headphones on

Man, that sucks. At first I thought it was your snarky response to the post immediately above. Then I saw the post about waiting in the surgeon’s office.
I had one about 15 years ago where the laser surgery in the office wasn’t successful (due to the position of the tear) and I had to go under general anesthesia to get it done. They put the SF6 gas in my eye to hold everything in place. The worst part (still makes me shudder) is a week of “imprisonment” where I had to be face down, pretty much 24 hours a day, save for 5 minutes each hour. Hope you don’t have a severe enough situation and you can be done in a day or two.

I had a tear in my left retina three years ago. Now I have one in the right eye. They may have to suck the eye goop out and replace it. I'm hoping not.

the wife had a double vitrectomy after lasik complications
it doesn’t sound like the recovery is as bad as for a torn retina (but she’s also in her mid 30s)
and i’ll just add that the human body is amazing. sucking out the vitreous and replacing it with saline, only to have the body naturally replace the saline with new vitreous blew my mind when i first learned about the procedure

Yeah, that's what the doc said. Hopefully, I can avoid suckage. At least in this case.

Here is my annual complaint, and valid, that ESPN.com purposely doesn’t differentiate the design for mens ncaa scores vs womens.
It is obviously purposeful but it is confusing and non functional and counter intuitive.
Just bad UI.
If you want to put womens scores first ( which I’d argue you probably should not bc I’d say more viewers looking for college scores are looking for mens ) fine but put a clear separator between them. Better yet use color in the text or background. It’s elementary shit.
