I hope Harris is more amenable to Zelensky's desire to prosecute the war using US assets more aggressively than Biden has allowed. Make Russia feel it, pay a price. (With all due respect to the average Russian citizen...) Let's teach Putin and his fellow imperialists a lesson, and not only put an end to their invasion of Ukraine, but lesson the likelihood Russia will advance on their former satellites, or anyone else, any time soon. Why stretch this out for more and more years when Ukraine is so eager to make the effort and bring it to an end? What could have a more significant impact on Russian public opinion than losses on the battlefield, and having to defend the motherland?

Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Intelligence Service has claimed responsibility for the drone attack on the ammunition depot in Ostrogozhsk city in Russia’s Voronezh region on Saturday. The agency confirmed that soldiers of the Main Intelligence Directorate attacked Russian field ammunition depot belonging to the “West” group of the Russian Armed Forces. “More than 5,000 tons of ammunition, including artillery and tank shells, small arms cartridges and surface-to-air missiles were on the territory of the military facility. Detonation continues,” the Main Directorate stated in its official Telegram channel. The explosion occurred in Ostrogozhsk city after the attack. It should be noted that as many as 200 people were evacuated from three nearby villages following the attack...

Republican vice-presidential nominee JD Vance recently laid out a potential Trump administration’s approach to end Russia’s war in Ukraine, saying Donald Trump’s handling of the conflict could include establishing a “demilitarized zone” in Ukrainian territory now occupied by Russia.
The approach would mark a dramatic change from the Biden administration’s policy — which is focused on providing military and other assistance, along with Europe and other allies — to help Ukraine repel and reverse Russian aggression.
“I think what this looks like is Trump sits down, he says to the Russians, the Ukrainians, the Europeans: You guys need to figure out what does a peaceful settlement look like? And what it probably looks like is the current line of demarcation between Russia and Ukraine, that becomes like a demilitarized zone,” Vance said Wednesday on “The Shawn Ryan Show.”
The proposed demilitarized zone, Vance added, would be “heavily fortified so the Russians don’t invade again.” As part of the peace plan, he said, Ukraine would maintain its independence in exchange for a guarantee of neutrality — meaning Ukraine would not join NATO or other “allied institutions.”
The Republican senator from Ohio didn’t specify who would control the “demilitarized zone,” but he said the “current line of demarcation” would remain. Ukraine therefore would not reclaim its territory that Russia now occupies. It’s not clear whether the proposed demilitarized zone would be within currently Russian- or Ukrainian-occupied territory.

playing devil’s advocate here…if a demilitarized zone were to happen, why wouldn’t BOTH countries cede territory?
why would be only on Ukraine to give up territory?
