Is it just me or is this year's tourney starting late? I seem to remember the big12 tourney usually starting the first week of March.

Correct. Usually happens just after St Patricks day. Now it’s a week after.

Just a few years back we played on St. Patty's day.
Or was that just last year?*
*edit:
Yes, just last year, the exciting match v Seton Hall.

Yes, the cycle is this week or last for conference tournaments, it’s been a week earlier for a couple few.
08 champ, for example was 4/8/08.

Does anyone else find it strange that Lunardi is giving us a 4-seed and Purdue a 3-seed in the NCAA tourney when KU had a tougher schedule and the same record as them? Kansas is 10-7 in quadrant one games and Purdue is 7-7. Maybe there's something I'm overlooking, which is why I'm asking. I'm not saying that we deserve or have played like a 3-seed, but the same could be said about them. Also, do we even have a chance of getting a 3 seed? Not sure how much weight the voting committee puts on conference tourney wins/losses. Seems like Houston, Texas Tech, and Michigan are locks to get at least a 3 seed so the only way I see us getting there is if Purdue tanks.

our best wins were with an almost completely different team than we currently have

Do they take that into account or do they just credit us for our overall resume regardless of who is still playing? For example, would they score Dukes losses differently when they were without Zion? I know they put more weight on games played later in the season.

i think the committee takes it into account, so would presume lunardi does as well
could be wrong

Ok thanks for your response. So do you think we still have a chance of getting a 3 seed if we won the conference tournament?

IF Tech turns out to be a 3 instead of a 2, it will. But we’ll all know Sunday.

Yeah, I guess. But it cost us the streak and it gives Tech some rest.
