Duke or KU look to be on track to be the #1 overall seed.

The great thing is that the other 2 contenders for 1-1 will be slotted in LA and NYC--neither would be our first choice.

Still a lot of season.
Ohio State could be a contender.
Michigan State isn't out.

Zags though on track for 1 out West for sure.

Ohio State is looking more and more like a pretender every game.

Some guys have the worst luck with women out to get them! (sarcasm)

Roy, man, he's something.

After North Carolina dropped an ugly game to Georgia Tech on Saturday, coach Roy Williams said this was "the least gifted" team he's had.

. . .

Still, Williams didn't back down from his comments and suggested that, indeed, UNC played with little energy in the second half as a large lead slipped away amid cascading turnovers and a suddenly electric Panthers offense.

Williams said his assessment of the Tar Heels' talent was "the truth" and suggested the media was sensationalizing an honest evaluation.

"I just made a statement. If you disagree, that's your prerogative, but I think if you look at it, you'd probably agree," Williams said. "To me, that's the most ridiculous thing to get attention. It's like me wearing lucky socks or something. You've got to play the damn game."

How many time outs did he save?
Did he throw his sport coat?
Did he sub all 5 guys at once?
Hopefully, Roi gave maximum effort.

I was gonna post Roy’s comments in the Dickie V thread cuz of dude’s best coaches of the decade list.

Sure, titles are great and all, but so is consistency. Thank the lord Self never had a season like Roy.

Or Coach K or Cal.

They've all had stinkers of a season. Our stinker of a season is a 4 seed. Duke missed tournament in 95 (Just a couple of years after Natty)

Cal went to NIT ONE YEAR after their Natty.

All comes back to what is important. And for most people national titles outweigh having a bad season or 2 where you're a 10 seed or miss the tournament. Personal preference.

As Kansas fans we tend to value sustained success more than national titles.....partly because we've only had 1 national title in the last 30 years. We also value conference titles a lot more than other fan bases it seems, again likely because we've won so many of them.

On a national scale, I can understand why sometimes we feel a bit slighted based on our win totals.....Peyton Manning is maybe a better QB than Tom Brady talent wise and skills wise. Even #s wise....but Brady wins more superbowls, so he's the GOAT.

again, roi, gah, he just can't help himself:

"We've had some great moments as a coach and right now I'd say this is my lowest one because losing this game was my fault," Williams said. "Told them if I die tomorrow or 20 years from now that'll be the biggest regret I had in 32 years as a coach. Cause these kids really need a win. And their coach let them down today."

"Gotta tell Bubba he should probably fire me, it probably wouldn't be a bad idea," Williams said, folding up a stat sheet to put in his jacket pocket. "The coach is supposed to help his kids. I didn't help them very much.''

I think self is probably a better coach and i never understood the Roy hate. I was pissed when he left....but mainly because of the way he left, not because i thought he was a horrible coach. We upgraded with Self and roy went home, soooooo what is there to be mad about?

watch Roy pop one last viagra pill of a career move AKA sell his soul to the oneanddone devil for the next couple seasons to see if he can get it up one last time to the promised land.

oorrrrr just retire this season after a nice, soft, roiboi, pastel blue, wreck of the Andrea Dorea, old man slipping into a hot bath, sort of lookie-at-me swan song.
