So years 1 and 2, Mahomes is what 3 mill, high 20's?
And then he starts making around 40 mill a year for 5 years.
And then it's 60 mill in 2027.

Henry looking to sign a big deal with the Titans.

Only 25.5M guaranteed, which is fine for a 26 year old. Anything more would have been a mistake.

With that deal McCaffrey, Zeke, LeVeon and ( ew ) David Johnson are the only running backs making more than he.

He's a top 5 RB and so he should be paid like one.
I'd just rather build RB through the draft - get a guy like Helaire or Swift for low cost.

That definitely seems like the 'smarter' way to do it, pdub. Titans kinda phucked the way the roster is built.

Going to be extremely interesting to see how the cap looks next year, and what that may mean to many players.

I think getting Henry at lower end of the scale demonstrates a thinking that the cap may actually shrink for once.

Honestly, though, the entire sports $$$$$ bubble in general is a joke, and is gonna implode on itself at some point. But not before the part of America that does not care about sports realizes how they are paying for the industry.

Henry probably looked and saw what happened with Melvin Gordon - and really what should have happened with Leveon ( he lost money in the long run not accepting the Steelers deal ) until the Jets were the Jets.

I think it's a good deal for both parties - Henry is a top 5 RB and got paid like one - but he didn't demand more money than David Johnson who he is obviously better than.

I thought we were headed toward a tv-rights-fees-related financial reckoning also. But COVID might change that - we're not far off from there just not being any new non-sports, non-news TV programming. Sports might end up being even more valuable.

It's certainly a low enough number that if he can keep from going splat in the next year or two, it's manageable.

Madden ratings.
Mahomes 99 obviously.
McCaffrey 99, duh.
Donald 99, yup.

Gilmore 99...hm....
Thomas 99...meh...

Tyreek 96.
Mathieu 93.
Chris Jones 92.

I'd hope Frank Clark was at least a 90.

I haven't seen the TE rankings out yet ( looking at an ESPN link ).
I'd have Kittle and Kelce matched but I bet, b/c they wanna spark some shit, they put Kittle 1 point better.

How I'd rank em:

Kittle 97
Kelce 97
Ertz 93
Andrews 91
Gronk 86

Looked at them.
Gronk at 95 is just dumb.
Should not be ahead of Ertz.

And of course they put Kittle over Kelce.
Kelce had something like 200 yards and 4 TDs in the playoffs.
Kittle didn't do squat except get called for pass interference.

I forgot about Hooper.

Good lord.

I can't overstate how badly I want this stupid Tampa Bay gambit to fail.

Also without looking at the QB ratings mine would be something like:

Mahomes 99
Russ Wilson 96
Lamar 94
Watson 92
Brees 91
Rodgers 90
Dak 87
TommyBoy 87
Matt Ryan 85
Kyler Murray 83

Phil Rivers should be 75. And 13. In alternating quarters.

Yea Rivers would drop.
You have guys like Josh Allen, Carson Wentz and Ben Rothlisberger over Rivers.

That is the genius of not playing for a tie with Rivers as your QB. The guy you get in O/T will throw a pick-six, fumble, or take a terrible sack. Roll the dice in the 4th. . .
