Rural Americans were talking about distrust of the census when it was happening. I wonder how much of this is real, vs how much is it shooting themselves in the foot.

their distrust is only because they don’t like the results

on its face, not much different than climate change

Wait, I was told that people were fleeing big cities because of all of the terrible Democratic mayors and their socialist policies. You mean that Lobster might not have been telling the truth?!?

"Growth was “almost entirely” in metro areas, he said, adding that all 10 of the country’s most populous cities grew. "

The National Republican Redistricting Trust, which coordinates GOP efforts on a national redistricting strategy, says on its site that Democrats plan to use redistricting “to gerrymander their way into permanent majorities, so they can enact their radical left-wing agenda unchecked.”

projection much?

Because.....you will not replace us through elections I guess.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics ... -machines/

Peters did not respond to The Washington Post’s request for comment Thursday but released a statement earlier this week saying her constituents had voiced concerns about election integrity: “I have told them I will do everything in my power to protect their vote.”

Peters has spent the past several days in South Dakota at the “Cyber Symposium” held by MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, one of the most ardent allegers of election fraud. (Lindell is being sued for defamation by Dominion Voting Systems, the company that manufactures Mesa County’s equipment.) In a keynote speech at the event Tuesday, Peters said Griswold’s investigation of her office was politically motivated.

of course, it’s not that their “policies” (if you can even call them that) are becoming ever more unpopular...that couldn’t be it

if they can’t win fair and square, then they’re just going to do everything in their power to game the system in their favor

literally the only way to counter this, barring changes in the judicial dynamic, is to vote (cuz we know at least half of congress has no interest in enacting legit voting rights measures)

vote, vote, vote, vote...no matter how difficult or inconvenient. gotta vote

Meh. Voting is insanely easy for anyone who puts forth minimal effort. The idea that black people aren't capable of voting is cringey and seems to often be coming from a white mouth who knows few black people...which is not to say certain politicians don't try to make it harder for their believed oppositions to vote, because i am sure there are instances where that's true....but they can't stop anyone from voting who can legally vote. Hell, they can't even make it what i would consider "hard" to vote.

it’s no different than vaccines

white people or more likely to 1) have the flexibility to take off work, and 2) easily access a polling place

edit: healthy living falls under this umbrella too when you look at access to fresh produce and a healthy diet

Saw it on a Candace Owens video.

This is a much bigger issue than voting being "too hard".

And before the strawman comes out to play i am in NO WAY saying there are zero obstacles and/or zero attempts at voter suppression....just that it doesn't appear to matter nearly as much when the black community has a candidate they want to support as evidenced by record black voter turnout over the last decade plus.

Fivethirtyeight has some good articles and polling numbers about the various reasons why some people vote and other don't (or only vote occasionally when there is actually a candidate that they like).

they’re both issues that need addressed

why don’t you want it to be easier for this country to truly be a democracy that is representative of all its citizens, rather than just of those most motivated to vote?

There's the strawman. Knew he would show up. I never said I didn't want it to be easier. I said it is already pretty freaking easy if it is a priority.

How easy do you need it to be?
