Congrats to Kansan and KU professor Kevin Wilmott for winning the Oscar for adapted screenplay tonight.

BlacKkKlansman is excellent, see it if you have not yet.

A day in the life of Gutter 2/28/19 edition.
5:30am woke up.
Took thyroid, acid reflux, and happy pills.
Made a cup of coffee (for myself - not my boss).
Paid my rent on line.
Fucked around on the inter webs included watching horse racing from South Africa and posting on here.
7:15am will take a shower.
7:45am will take my blood pressure med.
7:46am will leave for work. Walk a little over a mile to get there.
8:15am will get to work. Pick up and distribute newspapers to several fellow employees.
8:30am see what they have in the office for breakfast. Probably bagels and fruit for me.
9:00am one of the many perks of the job - Have to drive "exotic" car about 25 miles north and drop it off. Have driver in another vehicle follow me and drive me back to the city.
11:30am briefly work on major project at work.
12:00pm "good bye" lunch for co-worker who is leaving after close to 20 years with the company.
Overrated Maggiano's - but plenty of it. I'll gain two pounds.
1:30pm back to work and continuing on major project.
3:30pm walk around the office and socialize. Annoy people who are too kind to tell me to leave them alone.
4:00pm back to work - on major project.
5:00pm leave for a "work sponsored" party. Since I don't drink my time there will be brief.
6:30-7:30pm go out to dinner with female co-worker.
9:00pm get home and probably set up new laptop computer.
10:00-10:30 pm go to bed.
Boring life but I remind myself it could always be worse.

Whatcha guys/gals got goin' on today? Anything special?

Just shoveled my work truck out of snow at 5:20am. Got another 6" of snow last night for a total of about 22" on the ground. Now i get to fight the roads to the job and put my bags on and go to work for 10 hrs. Then home to cook dinner, hang with the kid, clean the chicken coop, clear out the dogs area, feed my buddies horses, clesr snow off my little travel trailer roof, build a fire, then bed. My days not much more exciting gutter, just colder and more manual. Haha But im off tomorrow.

Maggianos is probably overrated, but still so very good....easy to get spoiled in Chicago with so many incredible restaurants!

I was watching the tv show “Air Distasters” a couple of weeks ago, and was reminded of one of the two luckiest people I’ve ever known was on that flight. He was obviously the luckiest person I’ve known. Fourteen out of 108 people on the plane died. My acquaintance was seated in an exit row, and was the second person off the plane after it crashed on takeoff about 30 years ago. If he’s still around, he’s in his 90s now.

The second luckiest acquaintance I’ve ever known, back in the days before multi-state lotteries, won $800 on a lottery ticket, reinvested the $800 in lottery tickets, and won $8 million the next week. That was in a western state. He owned his own moderately lucrative business before the jackpot. Didn’t change his life noticeably, except maybe to retire somewhat earlier and leave the business to his kids.

The first day of my summer vacation, I woke up.
I went downtown to look for a job.
I didn't find one.
I hung out at the drugstore.
The second day of my summer vacation, I woke up.

So I fedexed my fishing gear back from WA. It was supposed to be here Wednesday.

Yesterday I get a random text that it’s the fedex guy, he wants to know where I am to sign off on the package.

I did not request a signature for receipt, nor did they inform me one was required.

Is that normal? Like was I supposed to just know that?

Now I’m spending my day off just waiting and watching for the fedex guy to show back up.

Actually do they even have nudie mags in shithole countries, or do they all have to get off to issues of Good Housekeeping?

Wait, by "shithole countries"...you mean where the darkies are, correct?
