Members: 15 members
with legal, higher education
and/or sports backgrounds
who are not affiliated with
NCAA member schools or
conferences. Each case will
be handled by a panel of five
of the 15 members.
• Reviews allegations from
the Complex Case Unit and
the school’s response to
those allegations.
• Oversees the case hearing
and decides penalties.
• If appropriate, expands upon
allegations presented by the
Complex Case Unit.


As I stated, the NCAA will not be doling out the punishment for Kansas' case.

I read nonsensical bullshit like what I linked all the time and I can't make good sense out of it--and that is the simplest chart that the brains in Indianapolis could cook up which means behind it is even more co-mingling.

But, mostly, given the NCAA's decades long track record, it's just pretty naïve to not wonder about there being a fox in the henhouse.

They also stated in late April 2021 that decisions on all 6 remaining cases ) Kansas, Memphis, North Carolina State, Arizona, LSU and Louisville) would be finished within the next 12 months. To my knowledge, only NC State has had their case resolutions announced and it has been nearly 14 months.

I actually know one of the people on the IRP, Jeff Benz, from my teen years in the Detroit area. Super nice and brutally intelligent. I really hope he is one of the people who heard KU's case as his history in sports mediation has always been to err on the side of the athlete. He was recently on the committee that heard the case of the Russian figure skater at the Olympics.

I think it is still a violation to offer to find relatives jobs and cash if the player comes to your school.

I see what you are saying and I can certainly see the NCAA standing in the shadows loudly informing this panel what they think should happen. At this point, no ruling would truly surprise me. The NCAA has been consistent in only one thing over the years and that is in continually choosing to do the wrong thing.

It is school vs ncaa/"the rules".

The punishment will involve the school, the coaches and potentially the current athletes. Being "pro-athlete" makes it less likely that the current, uninvolved athletes are hit with a postseason ban that punishes them despite having nothing to do with them. At least that is my hope.

To bring it around to the thread topic, I am hoping that the IRP reaches a ruling that does not punish the 2022-23 lineup and allows them to play in the tourney next year if they perform to that level.

We know they are in the rotation. The question is where. Are they contending for starting spots, first dudes off the bench or end of the rotation guys who play mostly when someone has early foul trouble? If they are high end rotation guys then KU is really good next season.

I think both will play a lot. 1 might even earn a starting spot. If Jalen plays the 4 it's possible both could start (possible, but not probable). If Jalen plays the 3 then I think KJ and Clemence start at the 4 and 5.

It just makes me curious is all. I had considered both to be 2nd/3rd tier in the rotation picture in my head, which was built on basically nothing to be honest since we aren't seeing anyone play yet. I am hoping that everyone in those lower tiers looks like they should be 1st tier guys because I want KU to win another national title. That was fun and I'd like it to happen again.
