Trump has identified a group of people who he believes are more prone to believing his bullshit and he is milking them for all he can. I never made any such claim that every single person in that targeted audience has fallen for the con. Foreign adversaries have doubled down on that same group and targeted them on Facebook with fake stories from fake people in a successful campaign to sow discord and hatred amongst US citizens. That's not some Infowars.com conspiracy; that's a proven fact reported numerous times by our own US intelligence services, who were labeled "enemies of the people" by Trump as soon as they started to report it. Meanwhile, I have not seen a single one of my liberal friends share some sort of "my friend shared this and I agree!" bullshit post like I see covering my conservative friends Facebook walls.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 12:06 pmMy goodness.twocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 10:43 amThe issue I have is that the vast majority of the "batshitcrazy looney left" stuff is either completely fabricated, grossly misrepresented or if true, is being incorrectly applied to everyone who is not a Republican. And then it is compounded by the messages of the batshitcrazy right being dressed up in smoothly edited videos and easily passed along images and shared via Facebook by regular conservatives, who prior to this con, I considered not to be the "batshitcrazy radical right".
Trump has weaponized people of faith. Not just churchgoers but all people who are willing to believe what they believe based only on the hope that it is true without evidence supporting it. He has convinced them that the providers of clear evidence that proves what they believe is not the case cannot be trusted and that only he can be trusted as the source of truth despite the mountain of evidence over decades that easily prove how absurd that is.
People WANT to believe they are right. People WANT to believe they aren't being used as pawns. Every time Trump opens his mouth to accuse someone of something, it is basically an admission of what he himself has done or is doing. It is mind boggling what has happened to this country. Donald Freaking Trump is our President, people. WTF?!? Are you kidding me?
You may be right about people exaggerating the "looney left"...but you sure do a lot of the same stuff to the people you consider the "batshit crazy right".
Neither group is nearly as big as the opposing side claims.
And fwiw I know plenty of religious people who fucking hate trump. You act like only rural white people are churchgoers and that's laughable. There are a lot of very religious black people who despise trump. So your typical and predictable over the top comment of "trump has weaponized people of faith" sounds down right stupid imo.

I have zero clue WTF you're talking about as far as stating that rural white people are the only churchgoers. You're bringing that shit into the conversation yourself so don't try to pin your silly assumption based on your poor reading comprehension and biased assumptions through your "he's a lib, he must really mean..." on me.
Nah, there's enough video of our President saying stupid, repulsive shit to keep us with something to talk about. We don't need to concoct some crazy George Soros conspiracy about how the protests are all coordinated attacks on our democracy.IllinoisJayhawk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 1:48 pmLOLtwocoach wrote: ↑Thu Jun 11, 2020 1:29 pm Trump has identified a group of people who he believes are more prone to believing his bullshit and he is milking them for all he can. You said trump has weaponized people of faith. Not me. And implied that they blindly follow him.
And you questioning others reading comprehension is laughable based on your proven track record here of just ranting at people and not actually listening or digesting hardly anything outside your bubble of viewpoints.
No worries though, I wasn't being malicious in intent towards you. I really try to avoid the dumb arguments here about stuff like this. If you can't see that you do to the "right" exactly what you complain about them doing to the "left" then i can't help you or convince you otherwise.
But I would be careful in assuming the disinformation campaigns are only targeting the "right", because they're not. Just because your 150 Facebook friends don't share it on your timeline doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
