LeBron absolutely needs to win this to get into that conversation.
I know Miami has played well but they are still a 5 seed.
This would be worse than Dallas 2011 level of a flop.

"For all you LeBron lovers who don’t know sh*t. Who was actually 4 or even 2 years old when I was talking about this... And say 'oh, you didn’t do anything.’ I get it. You’re defending. You love LeBron."
“When we formed in Boston, you could never get past that. That’s why I say, when he took the jersey off in 2010, he buried that jersey under the TD Bank Arena. That 23 Bron jersey was buried under the Garden."

The definitely were too good for LeBron to get past in Cleveland with those relatively mediocre rosters. The Celtics were a great team and i think they started the super team trend. Had those Celtics not ran into a great Lakers team they would have won multiple titles. Those Lakers teams were also great.
Those Lebron and Paul Pierce battles were awesome to watch.

Was thinking about some comments on here and on TV recently about the LeBron vs MJ comparisons...(some is stuff we have talked about before i am sure)
1) people say his path was too easy this year and that it may actually hurt his legacy if the heat don't put up a better fight.....yet MJ is praised for never having a finals series go 7 games. He also never played teams like those Golden State teams, but that is out of their control so not worth focusing on too much.
2) people bring up LeBron losing in the finals...fine...but the same people glance over the times MJ lost before the finals.
Nick Wright who is a huge LeBron dick rider sort of made sense when he said the "rules" for goatness are basically whatever MJ did. Can't go 7 games. Can't lose in the finals, only before the finals...and MJ after the bulls doesn't count.

1) You're right about it being out of their control. I don't care about "paths". You can only play who you are lined up against in the first round and then the subsequent winners. That's never something a player should be faulted for. Yet.... Players are praised for beating what are/were perceived as being superior teams. Can we have it both ways? One way? Neither way?
2) If we are strictly talking Finals, then we should glance over every season a player didn't make the Finals. LeBron will always have more Finals appearances than MJ. I will always give LeBron a TON of credit for him and his teams getting to the Finals. MJ will always be 6-0 in his Finals appearances. That's something nobody can ever discount or find fault in. No matter who it was that the Bulls beat to get there - and in the Finals.
Nick Wright is entitled to his opinion/s but let's look at the obvious big picture. MJ supporters are always going to use perimeters that favor MJ and LeBron supporters are always going to use perimeters that favor him when it comes to the goat conversation.
How about instead of people debating and arguing goat, they focus more the greatest of his generation/era? Of course there will still be debates but why are people so obsessed with who was something (goat) that is more opinion than fact based?

His over drama is certainly annoying but he is fundamentally right about several things.
- Jordan on his couldn't beat teams with multiple really good players in the playoffs.
- Jordan was both a great player and the right player at the right time. He hit his prime just as Bird was hobbled by back problems and Magic was sidelined by AIDS.
- Jordan also benefitted from massive expansion that watered down the league and spread the elite players over more teams.
Timing and luck play nearly as much a role in who rises to GOAT status as talent. Jordan was the perfect guy to usher out the old short-short days of the Bird vs. Magic NBA and bring in the new style of high flying basketball.

I listened to him and found it funny how he doesn't tell people that the 85-86 Bulls were a 30-52 team that got swept in the first round to the 67-15 eventual NBA champ Celtics. Who lost a grand total of 3 playoff games.
He doesn't tell you that in the first two games Jordan scored 49 and 63 points either.
He doesn't tell you after the first two games Bird said, “He (Jordan) is the most exciting, most awesome player in the game" and “I would never have called him the greatest player I’d ever seen if I didn’t mean it” and “It’s just God disguised as Michael Jordan.”
Wright is a complete moron to say no teams in the East had more than one HOF on the team when Jordan won his championships.
Shit, if I am not mistaken, off the top of my head, in 91 I think the Celtics had Bird, McHale, and Parrish and the Knicks had Ewing and Mo Cheeks.
He claims the Bulls beat no "super teams" when they won their championships. They often beat 2 and 1 seeds. Who else were they supposed to beat?

The thing is a 2 and 1 seed doesn't make them a super team, and like you said, that's not his fault. He beat the #1 in the West 5 times. The only time he didn't was the #3 Lakers. Super teams just weren't a thing yet. There were teams that maybe had multiple all-stars a few times, but that's not really a super team. A super team is when there are multiple HOFers, in their primes, on the team. Sonics and Jazz were probably the two closest things to a super team he beat. He was beating good teams who's 2nd best players were guys like Rik Smits, Kevin Johnson, and John Starks.
Bulls couldn't beat any super teams because they were the super team. It's impossible to knock a guy's legacy because he didn't accomplish something he didn't really have a chance to do.

I'm not a Jordan-defender, but I've often considered the Portland team he beat to be possibly the best team to never win a title. That team was loaded with talent and made a couple finals.
The Lakers team they beat was not very good. Magic, and the next best player was Sam Perkins.
The Suns team with Chuck was VERY VERY good. Lots of talent on that team. Tom Chambers was on that team.
Seattle was a great team. For perspective Sam Perkins was only the 5th best player on that team.
The Jazz were pretty boring but had 2 HoFers on it. Plus Ostertag. But not a lot of depth.

You really like Tom Chambers.
In his peak year, he'd be the maybe the 50th best player in the NBA on a roster today.
NBA rosters just better now.
