who ya got?
Re: who ya got?
No? It's not being diverse or inclusive when it's just pandering. Both are just examples of politicians trying to impress a certain part of their base. Delaney and Warren, despite the fact I don't agree with her, were all about business, actually discussing the issues.
Re: who ya got?
I dont care about the Spanish speaking one way or another, I just find it unnecessary and think it comes off looking like purely a ploy for voters.
Just Ledoux it
Re: who ya got?
Purely a ploy for voters? They’re fucking politicians, aren’t they?
But even though I’m not a certain part of their base, I’m impressed. I wish I could speak Spanish that good. But then again, I don’t even speak English that good.
But I guess I my point is, much of the world speaks multiple languages. Merica is the outlying loosers who doesn’t.
And okay, only now will I mention, I didn’t get to even watch the debates. Beaverfever instead wanted to watch The Great Outdoors instead, and I mean who’s gonna argue with that?

It's sad that you have to explain this basic and obvious fact to some on here. Shows how dumbed down America has become.Mjl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:19 pmNo? Re: who ya got?
I think it's great they speak Spanish. I don't tune in to the debates to see that. It comes across as pandering. And to say "They're fucking policians, aren't they?"? Warren and Delaney managed to have a discussion on the issues. So no, they don't all do it.
I was going to be a Biden voter in the primaries before tonight. I've switched to Delaney (if he makes it to my state, which he won't).

Re: who ya got?
Biden? Biden?? Oh Lord. If he's the one, Trump has already won.Mjl wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 11:19 pm I think it's great they speak Spanish. I don't tune in to the debates to see that. Re: who ya got?
Mjl, I was also impressed by Delaney. He kept kind of saying, "But just regular people out there..." and it was sort of refreshing.

Re: who ya got?
You're the one that brought up pandering about the wall etc. If they're "fucking politicians" then why do you so riled up by Trumps obvious attempts to fire up his base? Jfc
My point was the Spanish didnt seem like a sincere genuine attempt to include and more a game to play to a specific base voter.....and obvious hot topic.
Also, dont tell people about these "fucking politicians" some people get really upset when politicians fuck.

Re: who ya got?
I thought Warren "won" the night. Julian Castro was a "winner" too. I've been very impressed with Delany for some time, and thought he did well.
I too was put off by the obvious espaniol pandering. But that resolved after ~ 1.7 seconds, because as ousdahl so astutely pointed out, politicians gonna politic. And, in politics, and especially when you're one of the plethora of second and third tier candidates trying to distinguish yourself and break out of the pack, it would be political malpractice not to attempt to in some way appeal to the "drug dealers, criminals, & rapists" demographic, and, what better way? Also, considering the horrific, despicable way this
has been treating the "drug dealers, criminals, & rapists", I don't mind someone showing them some respect by recognizing them as fellow human beings with worth, last night.

Re: who ya got?
People feel Delaney "won"? Maybe but I have two words in response to it, Oy Vey!
Probably not a good thing if he stood out the most.
The guy isn't going to win the nomination let alone beat Donald Trump.
Delaney may have gained the most last night but how many people knew anything about him before last night and how many people care about him today? I say not even 5% of Democratic voters would tell you they would vote for him over the 5 leading candidates.
Those who chose to speak Spanish, I predict they'll lose more votes than they will gain with that.
NO ONE last night showed me they have what it takes to beat Trump.
Seemed some of the candidates were too focused on not screwing up. One example of that was when Holt asked about the 2015 Nuclear deal and who would sign on. 3 or 4 of them immediately raised their hand. Then 3 or 4 others slowly raised their hands. What was up with that?

Re: who ya got?
Trump won, get over it.
Re: who ya got?
I actually thought the one who did the most for herself last night was Klobuchar. Rachel obviously hates her because she's not from the Northeast and she doesn't fit the appropriate leftist criteria, and she's not Elizabeth Warren, but she had really sensible answers.
Thought the worst was Elizabeth Warren by a country mile, as she completely blew the gun control question and in doing so showed her biggest weakness--that she really can't get beyond the "I'm an elite college professor" persona. The Parkland kids really made a difference in Florida last year--jeez, they even affected Rick Scott, who is kind of iguana like in his resistance to any movement. She was right up the road from Parkland and could have been looking for Florida votes, but chose to talk about research studies on guns. Which are important, but not if you're a college professor type in a debate about how you could govern the country.
Paul1, I don't feel Delaney won, but the others would be well-advised to take note of his common sense and "for the ordinary person out there" approach.
