Surprised he didn’t get more years. This makes him a FA again going into his Age 29 season. If I were the Chiefs I would have preferred a 5 year deal.
Lesson for today kids: being an asshole can cost you millions.
I’m not sure that’s true in this case. If the Chiefs would have given him 5 years, that’s roughly 18M a year for his age 29 and 30 seasons. I will not be shocked if he ends up making 20M+ during those years on his next deal.

Hill was in line to get the highest ever 5-year deal for a WR in history before this past spring. His behavior/reputation cost him 8 figures.

Brown will now play week 1 for Raiders
Gruden just neutered his GM and gave his players permission to pretty much say or do whatever they want. Same old Oakland.

I guess we disagree. I think this is a good deal for Hill. He gets to hit FA again in his prime and will likely still get that highest 5-year deal in history. In the meantime he still gets 18M a year. 2nd highest in the league

3rd if you consider guaranteed money and soon to be fourth but yes, a good contract.

Not true. I'm an asshole and it hasn't cost me a dime.

I believe this decision was made after Brown met with his teammates and coaches and apologized for his actions.
He called his GM a cracker and threatened to beat his ass. That goes away by meeting with teammates, most of whom likely also think he's a cracker who they'd like to beat up? OK.
If it came after a heartfelt apology to, you know, the guy he called a cracker and threatened to beat up, then it would mean something.

Your reading comprehension suggests that you might be right, you’re an asshole.

Raiders brass really need/s to look at themselves. They knew exactly what they were getting when they signed him and they had to have known unless they treated him with kid gloves he was going to break.
In other words, they basically aided and abetted AB to be AB - and in doing it all parties lose.

When it's Mizzou, the Broncos or the Raiders being highlighted as the Dumpster Fire of the Week, yes it amuses me.
Mizzou lost at Wyoming and their BB program is on probation. AB84 is a hot mess. Now all I need is some Flacco drama after throwing 3 INTs on MNF.

I don't believe the drama stuff at all with Mayock.
But, I did post last night before this morning's news. This is obviously a big deal now, and the Raiders will look like fools in the end. Sure sounds like Gruden tried to save it.
AB to the Pats for a super bowl win.

If Gruden wanted AB to be a Raider, he’d be a Raider. Mayock works for Gruden.
Not sure even Belichick wants to deal with this clown. Randy Moss was a completely different situation......and player.

A.B. is a Patriot - as soon as the papers are signed and the league approves it.

I’m actually shocked by this. Can’t see how he makes it a full season in NE

AB will be fine. Pats will be fine. This was inevitable if the raiders screwed it up. They did, of course.
