18 signed in the early period. It's not a grand slam, but it's way better than the ground outs we usually hit in December.

Anyone know how many scholarships KU has this year? Right now it looks like we have 21 commits.

Looks like we still might have a shot at these three as well

Keon Coleman - 6'4" WR - Ranked 378 nationally

Omega Williams - 6'5" - 230 lb OT

Jerrell Boykins - 6'4" - 290 lb DT

Seems to be some confusion regarding Tanaka Scott Jr. KU says he didn't sign

Yeah. I think he was technically "signing" at 4pm. But he submitted the signature quite a while ago.

He's the big dawg of the class and he's going to play right away.

15

it's always 15 for KU.

Miles said all 3 LB's and all 3 OL's are instant impact guys.

That seems like more of a statement on the current roster to my eyes.

Kind of a cool thing. Andrew Parchment is in the Transfer Portal, but did the recording for all the videos on social media for the guys who signed. Rapping about them and all that or whatever the videos all showed.

Cool that he is doing that even though he likely won't remain with program.

Or he is trying to jump start his rapping career. Which, btw, IMO, needs a lot of work.

Miles, knows he mostly inherited a dog shit roster, devoid of talent at some really key areas. The pitch is very simple here; if you want to win right now go some where else. If you aren’t afraid of hard work and want to play right now come to KU.

Ranked 60th on ESPN, 9th in the B12 just above ISU:

Top offensive commit: WR Kameron Grays (three stars)
Top defensive commit: DE Garfield Lawrence (three stars)

Despite a winless season, the Jayhawks have some key pieces in Texan defenders Garfield Lawrence and onetime Minnesota verbal D'Marion Alexander. Three-star S Omar Burroughs Jr. out of IMG Academy is another key defensive talent. Three-star DE Deldrick Withers is similar to Lawrence in frame and upside. Wide receiver depth will come from Kameron Grays, Kelan Robinson and the quick Majik Rector out of Texas. Kansas stayed at home for three-star RB Devin Neal but ventured to Indiana for three-star QB Ben Easters.

Pieces are coming in. Defensively I like what they are doing but LB’s are a glaring weaknesses. Potter needs to lose about 15 lbs because he is as slow as a Mack Truck.

The biggest question still remains do they have a P5 starting QB on the roster. If they don’t have a QB or OL be prepared for more of the 2020 variety.

I loved the Potter commitment because he played all out in high school and felt he was the type of guy Kansas State would turn into all league.

But, I don’t think anyone thought we’d need him to play this much this early. We’ve had a lot of problems keeping LB’s healthy. Too many snaps.

Just picked up Edwin White, Safety from Alabama that decommitted from U. Tennessee. Other major offers were Miss. State, Ole Miss, Coastal Carolina, and Arkansas State.

Also picked up a PWO punter. A good end to the early period.

Yeah that kid was heavily sought after by Dearmon.

KU had a very successful 2021 early signing period. Have a few more commits that will sign in the coming months, but really good. Lots of early graduating seniors in this class too. Will be on campus in January.

That is a good class with guys who have the potential to step in right away and make an impact. Would feel a lot better if they could add another QB - either high school or grad transfer.

Let's see if the bag is enough to keep him committed for the next month or so.

That is awesome news and game changing if it sticks. The pessimistic side of me says he has been verbally committed to four different schools and his offer sheet was just about any P5 school in the country. Why in the world would you choose KU over those schools. Loyalty to a coach is a dangerous, dangerous thing and not the most solid foundation for an 18 yr old.

I hope it sticks and it means the bag has been dropped off and they have told Davis that an immediate, game changing QB is also coming.

I feel good about it sticking considering he's a 2021 guy. KU Rivals guys have also been predicting this for awhile.

I'm more interested in Tim Grunhard's son entering the transfer portal. He'd start on OL every game here for 2 years. That's the type of transfer we are OK with.

Just have to hold on until February then pray someone in the QB room becomes decent or this kid may not stick around for long.

From what I have heard they are expecting a couple of OL transfers including going after Grunnies kid. No one 'splashy' but they all should have the opportunity to play from Day 1.
