This has only happened at one restaurant for me up here ( no other white person ) as it's almost impossible ( over 90% white ) - but it has happened twice.

I laughed. Why?
Because this morning I am planning on going to a deli where the majority of people dining in it will be White Jews. You guys walk in there, you would be a minority.

Being more serious, one of the nice things about living where I do, I can go about 5 miles in 3 different directions and go to at least 250 decent if not good or great "ethnic" restaurants in which as a Caucasian I would definitely be in the minority of patrons. Often but definitely not always, that will indeed translate to being a legit place to dine - for whatever type of food they are serving.

P.S. Assuming 99 was referring to the chain, I think Pollo Campero should reach to 99 and give him some royalties for his mentioning them on the Top 3 in your city thread.
I would have bet $100 it wouldn't have been mentioned on this thread - ever.

Which brings me to.......
What is a Top 3 in your city that is a chain and most people wouldn't put on their top 3 in your city list?

Mrs. Fish would mourn the decline of the abomination that is In-a-Tub.

cost and convenience make this spot one of our favorites…not sure if they’d be top 3 as far as quality though, generally. their salads can be quite good when made well

Kraft Mac and Cheese powder.

I had no idea that was a chain. If all their locations are that good, more power to them.

I was surprised to see fish list it as a "chain" too, but he's a smart guy and I'm afraid to cross him. I think there used to be 2 or 3 in KC. Now, it looks like there's only the one up north on the frontage road on the west side of I-29 on the way to the airport, south of Barry Rd.

I lived up north, and ate there more times than I'd care to admit.

But I never saw fish's wife there...

I wish we had decent fake Tex-Mex like in-a-tub here in Central Texas. Heh. Spoiled for choice. Even La Cabana is pretty good. And it is bottom tier.

Maybe so. Does she happen to have any distinctive tattoos or exotic piercings I might remember her by?

Sounds like Pappadeaux’s all over Texas.

How do I say it without sounding racist?
“It gets dark early…..”

“It’s loud as fuck….”

Bakeries:

Wheatfields
Don’t care about rest

Sitting here prepping bruschetta with tomatoes, basil, garlic from my garden, toasting up a baguette and about to grub!

Honestly, my favorite business in Lawrence.

Wheatfields is great.
Haven't had a sandwich there in a long while but they used to make very good ones.
