I am confident you probably have no clue who his attorneys are nor who the prosecutors are.
To give you an idea, you basically have Harden and Westbrook going up against Kris Dunn and Adam Mokoka.
I'm also confident you DO know how the legal system works.
Knowing both things, you should realize there is a VERY strong chance he's NOT going to prison for a long time.

i’d imagine if he’s able to dodge criminal charges, then a wrongful death civil suit would be forthcoming

I imagine a civil suit is forthcoming regardless of how the criminal proceedings pan out

I'd say, 99% chance he doesn't have any major charges. He's got one of the best attorneys in the country, and Illinois has already stated there will be no charges. He might even sue the media when this is over.

If he was a minor in possession of an AR-15 in the state of Illinois then he would have been and should have been "charged" and "convicted".

He also will not be facing charges in Minnesota.

Wasn't it already determined that the gun he used was not his and was already located in Wisconsin when he went to Kenosha?

I thought so.
Kyle Rittenhouse is considered a hero to some/many people. That is something I have a really difficult time accepting. I like to think he truly had GOOD intentions when he went to Kenosha but no matter how you choose to slice it, the kid killed people - and his life isn't exactly rainbows and unicorns these days.
I can't decide how I hope the court/judge/jury finds him but I don't feel he should get away scot-free.

"Dominick David Black, 19, a Kenosha resident, faces two counts of intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a person under age 18, causing death, according to a criminal complaint.

He was arrested Nov. 6. The complaint said Black purchased the AR-15 rifle for Rittenhouse to use and stored it at his stepfather's home. Rittenhouse, 17, was not able to legally purchase a firearm on his own."

My ignorance makes me question if his attorneys know exactly what they are doing and this is a strategy or if his attorneys are going to feel a need to put a muzzle on Mama Rittenhouse.

One of the many things that caught my attention in the article was this -
As Wendy Rittenhouse and her son’s attorneys try to raise money for both his release and legal defense fund, she scoffed at the suggestion her son could flee the area before a trial.
“I have $1.20 in my account,” she said. “You think I can get on a plane?”

Wait, I assume she may have a credit card or two but even if she doesn't, she has to be fully aware that there are literally 10s of thousands of people who would give her (and/or her son) the money.
That being said, why would she say "I" and not my son or my son and I?
Not sure how I feel about her but I have a strong feeling this women is a complete mess inside her head right now. No telling what she may (or may not) do.

Some kids are simply what I would call "untethered", free to roam and do what they please for a multitude of reasons. Sometimes it's due to not being around due to work and sometimes it's just parents who don't want to hassle with the unpleasant hard work of raising kids. Who knows.

His dumbfuck mother said, "If he didn't have that gun he would have been dead".
UMMMMMMM. "If he didn't have that gun" two others wouldn't be dead, another person wouldn't have been shot, and he (Rittenhouse) wouldn't be facing murder charges.
It's really that simple.
