This is a much bigger issue than voting being "too hard".
they’re both issues that need addressed

why don’t you want it to be easier for this country to truly be a democracy that is representative of all its citizens, rather than just of those most motivated to vote?
There's the strawman. Knew he would show up. I never said I didn't want it to be easier. I said it is already pretty freaking easy if it is a priority.

How easy do you need it to be?
easy enough that we don’t need to have this discussion

you shouldn’t have to take off work to vote

you should be able to use mail-in ballots do that you don’t have to physically go to polling places (in 2021? really?)

at the very least, we shouldn’t be making it any more difficult than it might already be

aside from ID laws, i’ve seen zero legislation put forward in the last year that is defensible in any reasonable, logical way

Agree about ID laws.

Also, i always vote by mail.

Make it a holiday. I'm good with it. But doubt it moves the needle more than 5-10%. Not everyone wants to vote. Some simply don't give a shit. Some don't feel represented by any of the potential candidates.

So, you feel really confident that this number is less than the amount of people who want to vote, but feel that they can't?

I will say this, I was in Harris County Texas during the election, and it was painfully clear who had to endure the most to vote. And, thanks to the GOP in Texas, they are going to have to endure just a little bit more next go around.

I 100% agree and believe it is harder for poorer communities to vote for numerous reasons (less places to do it, less volunteers to help run those places, etc). I am not denying that (because that would be stupid and wrong, granted that has never stopped me before)....i just don't think it being "too hard" to vote is why a majority of those americans who don't vote choose not to vote.

And ftr, not voting isn't just a black thing. A large portion of the white population doesn't vote either. Without looking I bet socioeconomic status has some correlation to voting % across racial lines.

Good for him. That's refreshing to see (which is sad to say). But as you could kind of tell by how she pushed back, the facts don't always matter when people are dug in.

How about a small wager that he denies what he said before the weekend?

That's about 10-20 million more votes. That would seem to move the needle in more than a few elections.

so the CA recall was a blowout that only affirmed what voters already decided on Election Day, but at a cost of $276 million to taxpayers

$276 million spent by a financially strapped state for a toddler hissy fit by Q kooks and whiners so that they can let everyone know they don't like being asked to wear a mask.

The Party of Fiscal Responsibility indeed.

I'm not buying it. A largely blue state, known for being liberal, often sited for being full of coastal elites, and liberal hollywood types, not to mention the lib-tards in the bay area. But sorry, I just find it hard to believe that CA would vote overwhelmingly Democrat. Must be voter fraud.
