At some point being perhaps this weekend.
Bills defense is a top 10 unit.
Their offense is back on track.

In fairness, they gave up a TD that would have been a turnover on the previous play if the Chiefs would have asked for it to be reviewed and a garbage TD with 4 seconds left. 14 of their 30 points given up were junk.
Hurtz was 32 of 48 for 387 yards. Their mistakes (motion penalties mostly) doomed them more than our defense. Thankfully, Mahomes was able to go on a long drive late in the 4th and eat up a bunch of clock before scoring a TD.
Sometimes you're the team that shoots themselves in the foot and sometimes your opponent is. The last two games it was the Chiefs. This week it was the Eagles. It's the same with bad ref calls; it balances out over enough time.

Hard to tell. Everyone thought the Broncos were looking good against their first three terrible opponents. Then they played a real team and got shellacked.

The Bills might be great or they might just be looking great because of who they have played. Their offense looks great against the terrible Texas and Dolphins defenses and their defense looked great in shutting out the terrible Texas and Dolphins offenses. A mediocre to bad Washington team scored decently on them so I think KC, at home will still be able to put up some good points if they can avoid turnovers.

holidaysmore wrote: Mon Oct 04, 2021 9:59 am While in theory that is a great idea. The reality is as good as even the Chiefs offense is that is no way a sustainable plan for the rest of the season. Not every team the Chiefs play will have a defense as bad as the Eagles and at some point the defense will have to step up and deliver.
Fortunately, they get to continue to practice, watch film and attempt to improve as well as to try to get some key defenders back from injury.

I'm still taking the Chiefs against anyone. Certainly if they don't turn the ball over they can beat anyone.

The defense is still real cause for concern because if they do want to win it all, at some point they will be counted to deliver. Certainly get Ward, Clark, Fenton and Gay back will help but at least in Gay's case is it just automatically assumed that he will get 100% of the snaps and that Ben will go right back to his previously held role? While I want to believe this will get corrected is a magical switch going to go off for this veteran group to tackle better and be lined up correctly? For my fandoms sake I sure hope so.

The real outlier here is whether or not we see what the defense was in 2019 with Juan playing the deep middle, Tyrann roaming around every where and Dirty Dan playing a complimentary role. Yesterday Dirty Dan played 100% of the snaps on defense and against the Bills that just won't work. The longer you leave him out there the more chances you get of him getting exposed due to his lack of athletic ability. The narrative we have been led to believe is that he is 'in the right places' but that is only true when he is actually in the right place and more importantly he makes a play in those situations.

Agreed. The Bills two shutouts came against Jacoby Brissett and Davis Mills. Let's see what they do against Patrick Mahomes, who is completing 72% of his passes and is on pace for 5,100+ yards and 60 TDs through four weeks.

Tampa Bay had a lot of the same problems stopping the pass last night. Some of it is the NFL. The defense does need to get better no matter what. A few bad holding calls or PI and you can easily lose a tempo. The Chiefs are playing chess at high offensive level staying ahead materially when they win even after some blunders. But the Bills know they just need to contain them a few series.

Sorenson absolutely whiffed a sack and was beaten to the spots repeatedly yesterday. Pretty tired of the excuses at this point. A walk-on with speed is better.

Well, the shutout came against Brissett because they knocked Tua out of the game early.
Tell us what you think happens if they knock Mahomes out of the game early.

The point being that the "great defensive performance" can be credited to who they played as much as how they played. The fact that they played not only a crappy team but a crappy team where the backup QB had to come in unexpectedly just further supports my point. If Mahomes plays the full game, I fully expect KC to be able to score and score well.

Just for the sake of Chiefs rooting purposes. You don't root for either team, but I think you cheer for the Raiders tonight because LA is a bigger threat to the Chiefs compared to the Raiders.

It would still leave a 2 game gap, but I think you overcome that gap easier than a consistent 1 game gap by the Chargers.

I'd rather the Chargers win on 2 field goals, 6-3.
Give all the AFC teams a loss.

Bills have a decent D - but that's not what we should be worried about.
Bills will run the hurry up offense I think even more than Philly did yesterday.
Better be prepared for that.

I am cheering for the Chargers. I think the Raiders get undervalued because they always do stupid crap to shoot themselves in the foot. That's not something I think should always be counted on. Bring the Raiders back down to the pack a little.

So we all agree that the Chiefs would have a better chance to win if their defense got better, right? OK, good. Odds are that they will.
