Overlander and I met years ago, when I was trying to find the 1-armed man who killed my first wife. I was on the run at the time, and he was pursuing me. Throughout our cat-and-mouse game, we actually became friends.

I'm not sure why Chas Wolfe would have access to info that the reporters already close to the program didn't.
I've seen it reported several places (not that Kansas offered 750k...but that his asking price is $1 mill). But, who knows, it's a world rife with chaos and rumor in this new era of mercenaries.
