I don't think he stops until he's dead. He's not wired to give up or even share power.

Plus, his legacy can then fall to King Douche II…Don Jr

the whole thing about term limits will make for quite the reality TV 4 years from now, if Trump even makes it that long.

and yea, you gotta figure anyone with the Trump name will try to make a career out of this subsequent. But I dunno if that have quite the same "appeal" of Don Senior.

I think they're grooming J.D. for the next eight years.

Split up the non-Trump vote however you'd like; Biden outpaced Bernie by about 2:1 in the 2020 Democratic primary, so that seems like a decent enough place to start I guess.

I think you'd be awfully hard-pressed to find a meaningful number of Trump 2024 voters who would have voted for a candidate to Harris's left. 0.8% might have been an overshoot there, if anything.
I don't think it's worth much to point to the 2020 primary as any indication of what might have happened in 2024. Or, who knows, maybe if 2024 DID have a primary, dems could have selected a stronger and more popular candidate yet!

(And besides...haven't we seen dem primaries held as something less than in objective good faith, anyway? oh, never mind)

Also, I didn't mean to suggest any meaningful number of Trump 2024 voters would have voted for a candidate to Harris's left.

Do you mean to suggest that maybe there were Trump 2024 voters who were otherwise on the fence, or could have potentially been wooed by some other candidate who was not Kamala nor even to the left of Kamala, but still some other option yet? That seems at odds with your suggestion previously that a viable third party candidate's votes would have come overwhelmingly at the expense of Kamala.

I've wondered how many "moderates" Trump may have picked up; non-diehard magaheads who simply held their noses within the two-party system.

Either way, I think the bigger takeaway from this election is, the overall lower voter turnout, particularly for Kamala.

I'd love to see your data that you've compiled.

That much is almost certain.

yea.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Cuz for the longest time the narrative was, but who could possibly beat Trump besides Uncle Joe?
