Your “discussions” are an endless circle jerk. The constant contrarian form of interaction requires more bandwidth than I care to give.

many of the takes here sound like comic book storylines. They could practically be copy-and-pasted from an issue of Captain America.

so, actually, yea, "a form of entertainment" isn't a bad way to put it.

sure, there's irony to the fact that every other person is so goddamn sure the only ones consuming misinformation are the ones who can't help but doubt the comic book storylines, but we've already discussed that...or, tried to, at least.

there's also the fact I've even admitted that if you instinct is to try to personally discredit me or put me down, my instinct is to try to clear the air.

But we've already discussed that, too.

Or tried to, at least.

now quick, somebody double down on calling me nonsensical, and accuse me of moving goalposts again!

If you provide the evidence that was asked for - which, so we’re on the same page, is simply evidence that supports a specific claim you made, about how I feel (?) - then I will consider it!
I thought I did provide evidence you asked for, but forgive me if I was not clear enough.

Let me quote myself providing that evidence, but with a little further clarity in italics:

"consider the specifics of the particular issue of U.S. allies dropping U.S. bombs on U.S. civilian aid workers, for which you replied by admitting you just don’t understand. That’s at least one good place to start."

You changing the ground rules, being this nonsensical insistence that Ukraine and Israel must be regarded as “a package deal” because you say so, is goalpost-moving.
[/quote]

my either/or assessment was, "you've either offered unwavering support*1*, or chose to just not understand it.*2*" (your numbers included in the quote)

cuz fwiw I do not insist that Ukraine and Israel must be regarded as a package deal.

As such, I also do not think it can accurately be considered goalpost-moving.

Cuz, bear in mind, let's review: this recent spat was prompted by me posting a meme about Canada and Greenland and Panama. You replied with your usual Cold War imperial pearl-clutching about Putin (and Xi!), plus some shit about healthcare, while so ironic-cladly accusing me of being the one moving goalposts.

This is word salad. billymadisonspeech.gif stuff.

What is happening here is that you put words in my mouth.* And when called out on it,^ you doubled down.** And when called out on that,^^ you went all squid ink nonsense again (see the quoted post above, and the gobbledygook that preceded it).

You cannot support your arguments without tricks. That alone shows how weak they are.

I believe you genuinely care about Gaza. But you have constructed an entire worldview around it, and you are having to say and do very silly things in order to make that work.

* You: "If Biden or Harris DID come out and say "yea we wanna invade Panama/Canada/Greenland/wherever, like for real, take your pick, just throw a dart at a map!, you would very likely support the invasion robustly, and insist that whatever rationale offered is true and just, and insist even more aggressively that any opinion besides your own must only be bad guy propaganda..."

^ Me: "This is more nonsense. Nothing I have said supports this."

** You: "for every war thread issue Biden and Harris has pushed, you've either offered unwavering support, or chose to just not understand it."

^^ Me: "Please support this with evidence. I've been in support of our support of Ukraine's defense (I wish we did more, frankly). I've been more measured about our support for Israel. If you have EVIDENCE that I have offered "unwavering support" for a different "war thread issue Biden and Harris has pushed," please show it."

sigh.

this is prob futile.

But let's try one more angle yet:

Fish, if you describe yourself as "more measured" about our support for Israel, could you elaborate upon that please?

Cuz, after checking a thesaurus, "measured" is a word that can go more than one direction. I'm not sure I understand how you're using that word, and honestly I do not intend to put words in your mouth.

If it's "measured" in the sense it's synonymous with terms like, "limited" or "restrained" or "careful," could you please offer an opinion or previous post of yours that would indicate as much - that you've been limited or restrained or careful in your support for Israel?

(A previous post would hold more water here, as I don't otherwise recall one, and it would show you aren't just making this up on the fly. But no need to spend your entire Sunday digging through previous posts either, so go ahead and feel free to just offer some opinion of limited/restrained/careful support for Israel in real time, even if it may be unprecedented...oh, and fwiw, doing so would clown me way harder than the "nonsense" "squid ink" tricks" shots you keep taking at me, this one's teed up for ya!)

If it's "measured" in the sense it's actually more synonymous with terms like, "consistent" or "deliberate" or "regular," then those terms are also coincidentally synonymous with, "unwavering." So, that comment in itself could be evidence of your "unwavering support" for Biden/Harris warmongering.

Or if it's "measured" in some other way yet, please do clarify. Again, let's not put words in each other's mouths!

We will call this latest blurt Ousdahl Niçoise.

The very thing you have criticized me for the MOST, in your single-issue odyssey on the Pols bored, is an example of my limited, restrained and careful stance on Israel/Hamas/Gaza/Iran.

Because you appear to not be able to follow even your OWN nonsense, here (AGAIN) is what you have said I have done:
for every war thread issue Biden and Harris has pushed, you've either offered unwavering support, or chose to just not understand it
Do you know what "every" means?

Because you do not seem to be able to identify any instances of either of those things, other than (1) my (admitted!) unwavering support of our support of Ukraine's defense against Russia, and (2) my (admitted!) measured stance on Israel/Hamas/Gaza/Iran.

The only times I even recall you offering an opinion on Israel, was when you said you did not understand the issue of U.S. allies dropping U.S. bombs on U.S. civilian aid workers, and when you expressed concern that things in Gaza could get worse under a republican administration.

Other than that, I do not recall you offering a thing…and CERTAINLY not offering a thing even vaguely resembling a limited, restrained, or careful stance on Israel…or, if you really want to make me ask again, would you care to elaborate how your support for Israel is limited, restrained, or careful, please?

So on the issue of Israel, at least, that falls into the two aforesaid categories - either unwavering support (in the very notable absence of any limited or restrained or careful support expressed otherwise, not to mention the absence of any criticism), or a lack of understanding.

I try not to touch Ukraine, but since you keep bringing it up - you just admitted your unwavering support! So that element of my take is satisfied. I, among other posters, have offered questions and criticisms and information that may prompt an otherwise-unbiased person to reconsider support in such an unwavering way.

About that though, you remained radio silent, in a way that reminded me of the way you went radio silent, even when asked, about questions and criticisms and information about Israel, until you admitted you simply did not (or simply would not) understand.

So, that element is satisfied.

Let’s explore the term “every,” here, though, cuz maybe you have me cornered on this one.

I’ve tried to discuss other conflicts, many of which the U.S. and the Biden/Harris administration were and are involved, and rarely if ever got any response from you, other than some tacit support and/or lack of understanding.

On any and every contemporary U.S. foreign conflict involvement, I don’t recall you criticizing a thing. Rather, you’re much more likely to dismiss criticism as bad guy propaganda.

Let’s try for one more specific issue, which has been one on and off in U.S. politics for decades:

Panama.

Any thoughts here?

Be away, it may be a catch-22 of sorts.

Do you think you’re more likely to oppose support for our intervention there, on the grounds that it’s validating Trump’s batshit?

Or do you think you’re more likely to support our intervention there, on the grounds it gains some strategic advantage on our imperial adversaries you keep mentioning here?

Now, if you’d prefer this “circle jerk” to end, just stop calling me the nonsensical one. That’s it!

I hope this ok to ask, and please clarify if I’m wrong, but in light of the recent weapons deal among so many others…shouldn’t this read more like, “Bibi and Biden say: ‘Hold our beers.’”
