I don't think this is a situation where you start with what you
thought was the
CHOOSE YOUR FIGHTER screen.
That's why I think you need to wait and see what exactly Trump II looks like. Because you have to run against whatever it
is, which is not yet known.
yea.
But I think Trump II can be handled inevitably as a little more of a known commodity than, say, Trump I...assuming anyone (but Dems in particular) learned anything from Trump I.

Pete would be my pick.
He does have that heartland everyman's appeal of sorts, right?
But, the whole homosexual thing could be a double-edged sword, depending at least on the messaging and counter-messaging and such.

pistol pete would need to be packaged with someone like say rasheeda talib.
pistol pete and rasheda taleb could be palatable to the American folks..

I think AOC might have that something something that Dems can't otherwise seem to figure out.
That's to say, enough appeal to some "base," and/or in some populist kinda way, like Trump
but - and also like Trump - in nothing more than a cosplay-populist kinda way.

Sure, AOC does, if she's running for the house or the senate in a blue state.
Nationally, I don't see it.
You're projecting what YOU like and thinking there are a lot more people who think exactly like you do than there really are.

yea, the whole woman (and partiucularly woman of color) thing may or may not be a double-edged sword.
but actually, I'm not big on AOC, so the whole "projecting" thing can't really apply here. It's a matter of sincerity...the cosplay thing kinda bugs me.
ETA I just think if there IS something to learn from Trump, it's that anti-establishment populist sentiments might be the move to win elections.

The candidate should be whomever possesses baseline credentials/
bona fides that is best positioned to speak to (and be heard by) those voters who are most directly harmed economically by Trump II.
I could absolutely see that being someone from the 2024 bench (in
profile type, a Whitmer or a Shapiro or a Beshear).
I could absolutely see that being someone in a bit more distant view of the 2024 bench (in
profile type, a Fetterman or Gallego).
I could absolutely see that being someone not even in the team picture at the moment.

Yea, could be someone not even in the picture yet. Four years is a very long time, particularly in politics.
Whaddya think of AOC?
Cuz, speaking of “positioned to speak to (and be heard by) those voters who are most directly harmed economically,” she could do the “I used to be a waitress in the satellite bored diner thread” sorta pitch to working-class types that dems otherwise just haven’t really offered lately.
She could also do the “I appeal to younger demographics cuz I’m young too” sorta thing. But her age may be a double-edged sword. Might not yet be her time.

I don't think she's it.
The House is a very difficult place for a President to come from, as the perpetual campaigning doesn't really lend itself to demonstrating any kind of executive ability.

Ousdahl seems to think nearly everything "may/could be a double edged sword". That's 3 times on this page.

Quite the meticulous recollection of my posting history.

You've made 3 "double edge sword" comments since 2pm this afternoon.
My god, this is your hobby of choice? You're talking just to talk. A bunch of words put on a page without saying shit.
