If you fire Jurgen Klinsmann in the early stages of world cup qualifying and then hire an uninspiring Bruce Arena and then your team doesn't qualify in one of the easier paths to qualification, you probably deserve a lot of the blame for that.

Was Only 2 games in, but sample size being small not withstanding, SKC-Rapids-Loons-FSL seems to be a goal happy pool.

One strange short season.

Well, they are hoping that the regular season will continue once this is all done. Which would be August 11th, I believe. They are hoping for 18 games or so after the tournament, which would mean 23 games all together.
This is just a tournament.

Does the tournament determine anything?
Will there still be a champion this season?

The stage games do count towards standings. Knockout play will not have any impact on standings.
Winner also gets $1.1M and a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Yeah, they forced this down player's throats, and it's going to potentially hurt trust btw union and MLS moving forward, but it's gonna happen (assuming Florida doesn't get absolutely rampaged by a new wave of cases in next two weeks). Even then, though, probably still happening.

Since MLS isn’t as popular as other sports it’s not as well known that Don Garber is the worst commissioner in professional sports. Unethical clown.

Looks like soccer is going to have to forge ahead without Dear Leaders' support:

Good ethics? Not usually. Except when a near career ending injury causes a player to stay down on the pitch. Then the sportsmanship ethics shine.

I’d guess the MLS tournament gets cancelled/relocated within a week.
