They aren't done, but we may be seeing vintage GM LeBron:
Out:
Kuzma, age 26
Caruso, age 27
KCP, age 28
In:
Russ, age 32
Bazemore, age 32
Ellington, age 33
Dwight, age 35
Ariza, age 36
They'll have games where they get lit up.
Russ will turn 33 during the season, Ellington will turn 34, and Howard will turn 36.
Lakers also added 37 year old Melo.
Of course there will probably be games they get lit up.
There were games that the 15/16 Warriors and 95/96 Bools got lit up.
Lakers better hope they don't see the same fate as the 15/16 Warriors.

DeMa DeRo to the Bools. Super Bowl!
Being serious, Karnisovas and Eversley have done a heck of a job over the past year.
Added DeRozan, Ball, Caruso, and Vucevic. Put them with LaVine, Williams, and White and you have a really nice squad.

What an amazing off season. Lavine is better off the ball as a scorer imo (Ball is better on the ball)...vucevic is super underrated. DeRozan is still a star, especially when motivated. Playoffs! We will be talking about playoffs!

OK Lakers are getting some pieces.
Lots of them.
None of them great - but a lot of parts to try and experiment with.

It's turning out much better than i was expecting.
They won't have the best roster top to bottom because of the 3 huge contracts. But they have 3 of the top 15 or 20 players in the world on their team. Only the NETs have a better big 3 (although i think the big 3 from several other teams fit better. Bucks heat suns and maybe GS if healthy).

Westbrook is definitely not a top 20 player in the world.
Maybe top 30.
They have two top 10 players though for sure.

He may not be in your top 20 because he isn't your style, but many NBA guys would have them in theirs (if we are talking individual players for the 2021-2022 season only).

Not perfect. But close. And fwiw it doesn't have Westbrook in top 20.

LeBron, Luka, Giannis, Kawhi, Durant, Curry, Jokic, Lillard, Butler, Booker, Embiid, Harden, Tatum, Paul George, Mitchell, Zion, Irving, Gobert, Trae Young, Bam, Beal, Chris Paul, KAT.

Says Westbrook is in the top 20 then provides a list where he isn't.
Way to go.

I would not have Zion that high...but it's crazy how many great NBA players there are right now.
Personally i would still have westbrook ahead of some of those guys, but not many. Trae Young is close. KAT Bam and Gobert. But it's splitting hairs and personal preference at a certain point.
I would have embiid about 7th i think. Lebron Giannis KD Steph Luca Harden ahead of him and then it gets tight with him and Jokic and a few others.

I even put that in my post. I just found a decent list that went to 50+ players and posted it.
You're allowed to have whoever you want in your top 20. It is almost totally subjective if we are reasonable about who we name and don't throw in faves like Taco Fall.

That's not a perfect order.
All of these players have a top 30 PER i think.
Westbrook didn't crack the top 50.
ESPN's list had him 36th.

Since you didn't like my last list. This one has him top 15.

Which is exactly why i didn't cherry pick a list as if that somehow supported my claim beyond a reasonable doubt. I picked a list with a lot of players so people could think about it on their own.

Westbook ahead of Booker on PER was surprising.
Westbrook 46th fwiw. Just inside top 50.
