Nothing he should be ashamed of if it was consensual sex and the women willingly chose to keep the babies.

How do you know that it wasn’t consensual the same way that someone consented to an offer made by Clemenza on behalf of Vito Corleone

and even if it's not consensual, Elon will just pay them to shut up about it, right?

Just casually accusing people of rape now for giggles? Really a slap in the face to every woman who has ever had to experience sexual assault.

There’s a level between assault and consensual - coercion where one party has a power over the other. Professor/student, boss/report structure. This is ostensibly what the Republicans were alleging happened between Clinton and Lewinsky.

TDub originally posted this on the football bored but figured better to discuss here. I’m responding to the bolded part:
TDub wrote: Sat Jul 09, 2022 5:25 pm in a time that the nation is struggling with various hardships, pandemics, inflation, weakening spending power, increased homelessness, increased poverty, division in general, division between the elites and the common folks, insane gas prices,, increased rent and housing costs,, an eye toward future hunger issues....etc.

all this nonsense and whining from schools about millions, and whining from athletes (professional and now our semi pro collegers) makes me sort of ill. It takes a lot of the fun away from what should be a welcome distraction. If it weren't for my love of the Jayhawks I'd probably find myself slipping away from sports. I've already slid away from professional sports and college football has lost a lot of its luster for me. It's crazy too, sports defined a big chunk of my life.

fuckem all, fuck it all.
I’m more concerned about divisions between common folks and other common folks.

Divisions between common folks and the elite just isn’t divisive enough, is it?

without going full Q...

most division between common folks and other commoners is seeded by division between elites and common folk.

Yea.

As pissed as we get about shit like abortion and lgbtq and racial shit, just imagine how shit would be if we commoners could set that shit aside and organize our shit against the elites.

I mean, shit!

shit.

The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which provided loans to help businesses maintain their payroll, hire staff and cover costs during the COVID-19 pandemic was "poorly targeted" and that most of the funds didn't go to workers, according to a study released this week.

The study, conducted by economist David Autor and others, found that only about one-quarter of the funds from the PPP went towards supporting jobs that would have disappeared during the pandemic, according to a breakdown of the research written by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis.

It also found that benefits within the $800 billion program "flowed disproportionately to wealthier households rather than to the rank-and-file workers that its funds were intended to reach."

Wow, this is crazy. Who could have predicted this is how the PPP program would have gone down. I remember reading through the loan application and program description when the bank sent us a copy 2 1/2 years ago and thinking, "what could possibly go wrong?".

There really is only one rational reaction to this outrage.

Tax Cuts!

YES! No really, this time it's gonna fuckin' work, I swear. If you cut taxes for the top 1% there will be crumbs left on the table after they gorge themselves and the rest of you can have them, for free and shit. Sorry.....what I meant to say is those tax cuts will trickle down to you like a gentle warm yellowish rain. Just like the last one almost did. Mike Parsons get's it! He's gonna give me a tax break so that I can send mo money out to boost the Colorado economy.

Mich gonna blame Biden and vote for his Christian culture overlords to do it some more. DC gonna blame Goldman Sachs and Mickey Mouse. Blame whoever you want, but don't tell me you weren't warned that this was coming.

That's deceptive. The "prize" isn't 1.28 billion if they take the "lump sum". Supposedly it's about 750 million and the winner is basically taxed the same amount as most people who made millions in a tax year. I'm not saying that's what most millionaires pay in taxes - I'm saying the lottery winner and millionaires are taxed about the same rate.
