Which is almost a bummer to me as I don't think Kansas is even remotely one of the four best teams in the country this year. It just makes it more of an "upset" when they lose.
This is peak KU/Roy fan: I don't want a 1-seed because I don't want to choke again.
I'd definitely rather have the #1 seed than the #2 seed so maybe my "almost a bummer" comment doesn't reflect how I actually feel. But it will inevitably make the noise after a loss if it happens that much more annoying. This team just doesn't seem to have what it takes to make a deep run. Maybe it happens, hopefully it happens, but I won't pick them beyond the Sweet Sixteen unless their bracket is extremely friendly.

But, it's not "your bad." You were in the conversation that included all relevant context.

So, when you quoted the one line absent even mention of that context, you did so to misrepresent my point deliberately.

It's a team that has to go on a hot streak offensively to make any real noise. So definitely want to be full strength.

Agreed.

I feel like this team is at it's best with Remy as the 6th man energy guy, so long as the energy he brings is in attacking defenses and generating good offensive looks for teammates and not dribbling the ball a thousand times while refusing to pass. And the big man rotation looks way better now that Clemence is back and healthy.

There's time.
Yes.

This is probably our lightest week of the season left. Would be great to get him back during this one.
I disagree. Would be great to get him back whenever he's ready to contribute; (KNOCKS ON GIANT BLOCK OF WOOD)...Malik was pretty disappointing, until oh my god he was not.
Malik was finding his role though. He wasn't nearly unplayable. He just wasn't the 20pt a night threat he became in the later parts of the season.

And Malik was also a lot better than Remy. Malik is one of those guys who should have stayed a few more years and became a 1st-3rd team AA type guy. NIL would have changed a lot for him. He needed more individual coaching time with our staff to develop into an NBA guy like Devonte has become.

There is a very fine line between success and failure. It's so tough to make it.

Remy is so much better than Malik on-the-ball, it's not even close. Malik was almost solely a spot-up shooter and was also good in transition.

This team needs someone to beat their man off the dribble and make plays in the halfcourt. Give me Remy all day over Malik for that.

But they also have less of a chance of beating a Kentucky or Duke. Or, say, a crappy-but-athletic team like VaTech or Oregon.
I mean, maybe a smaller school specifically.

But this team is plenty capable of loosing to an 8/9 seed type of team. Which is want UNI was.

I mean we saw that when we almost lost to OU at home...they're a bubble team.
Every top 10 team in the country is capable of losing to an 8/9 seed this year.

This is the opposite of what I have seen. Malik was solid at finishing at the rim in the half court the last six weeks of the season.

Remy has been terrible at it.

the only thing i’ve seen Remy good at while on the court is getting by his defender

Insanity.

Malik attempted 5.1 2pt fgs per game at KU....and 5.3 3pt fgs per game at KU...shooting 51% from 2pt and 42% from 3pt...both of those numbers higher than any % from any Remy season.

Malik is flat out way better than Remy at basketball and it's not particularly close.

Stats seem to tell a different story.

But facts don't matter anymore so i get it.

Cool stats on Malik's 2 point field goals. He literally was never responsible for breaking down the defense. That was Devonte. So, if you're just going to copy/paste from KenPom, at least attempt to apply context as well.

How can a guy who takes half his shots from 2pt/around the basket, and who averaged over 2assists per game, "never break down the defense"?

Malik took over 10 field goals per game and attempted nearly 3 free throws per game.

Devonte only attempted 12.8 total field goals per game, nearly 7 attempts from 3pt per game, and just over 5 free throws.

I'd say they both were responsible for breaking the defense down plenty.

An awful lot of "breaking the defense down" and getting to the hoop in there...
