I think expanding to six or eight solves the issue of undefeated non p5 teams still getting in which is important til this all folds and becomes a couple super conferences.

Terrible final 3 plays from OSU. 25 seconds and 2 timeouts to get closer for the FG and they go -1 run, near INT, near sack/intentional grounding heave, to set up a 50 yarder that was 10 yards wide and 10 yards short.

Super happy to see Ohio State experience a soul crushing loss. Their fans deserve such a miserable exit.

They'll be lecturing you next week on their superior humility.

Exactly. They are what other Big 12 fans think KU basketball fans are.

First thing I did after TCU beat UM was text/email my TCU acquaintances to congratulate them.
4 of the 5 responded fairly quickly and they are all going to the NC game. I am sincerely very happy for them. I will inevitably be invited to an event or two.
Next thing I did was go on social media and see what my UM acquaintances were saying. They were surprisingly calm and respectful. I would have been pissed if I was a UM alum. It was a game they should have won.

As far as the tOSU peeps I know, I feel/felt no need to rub salt in their wounds but no doubt there are a few tOSU fans I don't care for. At all. And I am very happy I won't see and smell them a week from tomorrow.

Georgia is too big of a favorite - in my worthless opinion.

TCU has played against far better quarterbacks. They have a fighting chance to win.

I respectfully disagree. While I don't think Bennett is "great", other than Stroud, who has TCU played against that you feel is "far better" than Bennett? Off the top of my head I can't think of anyone.
Gabriel? I can give you better but I wouldn't say "far better"? Howard? Maybe better but not "far better".
The problem with Georgia's offense isn't Bennett. I feel their RBs and WRs are collectively far from great.

Moving on.....

4 college football games on a Monday. My worthless predictions.....

Mississippi State over Chase Brownless Illinois by 10
USC over Tulane by 14
LSU over Purdue by 13
Utah over Penn State by 7

Saban after the beat down of the purple team.

“I think the way the team performed out there together as a group was something to prove,” Saban said. “I think we had a little bit of a taste in our mouth if we had a dominant performance, it would show people that we did probably deserve to do a little better than we did in terms of the playoff picture.

Man if GEORGIA WINS Saban going to be so mad. He never going to retire.

It's kinda like Bill and Tom. Tom wins SB and now Bill is not going to retire till he wins one.

Is the point of the playoffs the "best" 4 teams or the most "deserving" 4 teams?

If best, then yes, bama was/is 1 of the 4 best. They lost 2 games on last second scores to good teams.

If deserving, then no, bama was/is not 1 of the 4 most deserving. They lost 2 games.

I just want the selections to be consistent year to year in how they do it. I am fine with best or most deserving. Just pick one and stick to it.

Win and you are in. Alabama's prison labor system takes a while to pay-off lately. Maybe "Boss-man" should let them have water and a biscuit more frequently earlier in the season.

Disagree.
So far, two out of three have been great games. Well, if you can deal with the Cotton Bowl refs - who have sucked.

Sure - I just meant the quality of teams, not the entertainingness (?) of the games themselves. You just expect the Cotton Bowl and the Rose Bowl to be...better.

The CFP gutted the prestige of both of those bowls, particularly the Rose Bowl, which is the best bowl, imo.

Not sure we're really disagreeing, but what's really killed the Rose Bowl (which I agree wholeheartedly is the best bowl) is the CFP and the fact that the Pac 12 rarely has even one great team anymore (and, if there was one, it would get sucked into the CFP).
