Meanwhile, Jalen Brunson.

NBA execs praying for Knicks/Heat, Celts/6ers, Warriors/Lakes, Suns/Nuggets.

What a get by the Knicks.
Thought he might have been a touch overpaid but got the Knicks their first playoff series since 13, so I was wrong.

Worth it.

Lake was holding Brunson back last season. When I watched Dallas last year he basically took a backseat to Luka and wouldn't go to work until Luka left the floor

Dallas desperately misses him

Speaking of wrong.
I didn't see/understand the hype around him when he was a Junior in High School.
Shows you what I know and why I am not a college coach/scout nor an NBA scout/GM.

two things i’ve learned through my years following basketball is that hs success doesn’t always foreshadow college success, and that college success doesn’t always foreshadow pro success

Pippen always comes to mind in these situations

Selden’s HS mix tape made him look like the second coming of DWade.

Re: Brunson, I didn’t closely follow the trades or whatever, but did Dallas really swap him for Kyrie?!

Brunson signed with the Knicks as a FA over the summer.

They failed to resign him. From what I heard partly cause of them lowballing him and partly because of him not loving Lukas unrealistically high usage rate (nice way of calling him a ball hog)

Then they made the kyrie trade mid-season to try to fix the Brunson void, even though it did the opposite

It also helped that Rick Brunson is an assistant on Tom Thibodeau's staff.

NBA vet JJ Redick absolutely bodied Stephen A. Smith and Chris Russo after they decided to kick Kawhi Leonard while he was down and out of the NBA Playoffs with another knee injury.

He gets to the line a few times a game off a play where he just anticipates contact and just flails against it. Fucking hate that shit. That ain't basketball
