I dont think the 76ers have any chance in hell of winning a title. has any team ever added a primary piece in a blockbuster trade in february and then won a title the same season?

Rasheed Wallace pistons

Mark Aguirre pistons

Pau Gasol Lakers lost in finals.

Off the top of my head

Well, last night proved Embiid can't carry a team on his own. My guess is Harden wouldn't have made the 6ers 49 points better last night.
The not so funny thing is that I still believe the 76ers are the 2nd or 3rd best team in the East. Which to me equates to having a solid chance of making the Finals.

Celts on a tear.
The Derrick White acquisition looks to have been a good one.
And they got their boy Theis back.

The celtics didn't suddenly start sucking even though they've been mediocre relative to expectations this year.

Totally agree about white and theis. Good additions at the trade deadline.

There's been turmoil and there's been injury/covid issues.
Brown, Tatum and Smart were calling each other out -- Smart even saying his teammates ( Tatum ) should pass the ball more often in the post game.
Looks like things have taken a turn.

I hope those 3 stick it out together. That's a really good backcourt.

For the worse - last night.
How do you lose at home to the 13-45 Pistons after beating the 34-23 76ers by 48 in Philadelphia?

This would also be great for KUBB.

NBA MVP straw poll: A familiar big-man battle is brewing at the top

PLAYER TEAM 1ST 2ND 3RD 4TH 5TH TOTAL VOTES TOTAL POINTS PREV. RANK
1 Joel Embiid PHI 45 38 12 4 1 100 789 T-12
2 Nikola Jokic DEN 43 39 8 3 2 95 754 4
3 Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL 9 14 56 13 5 97 512 3

For the "Sixers have no chance in hell crowd," Philly, without Harden, wins at Milwaukee in what had a playoff game feel/atmosphere.

Joel 42 points, 14 rebs, 5 ast. MVP.

Just wait until they add a lazy defender who stagnates their offense by playing isolation ball, and takes touches away from the mvp

Embiid and harden have looked scary good together so far. Regular season is different that playoffs. But promising start for the new looks 76ers

Amazing how much different James Harden is playing now that he's in a happy place.

Maybe he and Embiid is a match made in heaven? Crazier things have happened. They look GOOD together. They actually compliment each other better than I expected. And no hit to Embiid's productivity so far in the MVP race. Although i think the media is going to push hard for Doncic if he keeps putting up big numbers.

They've played the TWolves and the Knicks.
But he does look like he's ready to give full effort.
Harden is a top notch player when he does that - but that can go away pretty quick like.

76ers playing their first meaningful game since the harden/Simmons trade. Nets are up on them by 20 at the end of the 1st
