What happens if Trump wins, and something happens to Biden between Election Day and Inauguration Day in which he can't serve as President?

The Constitutional answer to that question does not depend on who won the election.

The same thing as if it happened prior to the election, Harris would go from Vice President to President. The election results don't change that.

Be careful when you donate that you aren't accidentally choosing a recurring amount.

https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2024/10 ... n-invs-dg/

"More than 1,000 reports filed with government agencies and consumer advocacy groups reviewed by CNN, along with an analysis of campaign finance data and interviews with dozens of contributors and their family members, show how deceptive political fundraisers have victimized hundreds of elderly Americans and misled those battling dementia or other cognitive impairments into giving away millions of dollars — far more than they ever intended. Some unintentionally joined the ranks of the top grassroots political donors in the country as they tapped into retirement savings and went into debt, contributing six-figure sums through thousands of transactions.

To provide a snapshot of who these vulnerable donors are and how much money they have lost to increasingly aggressive fundraising campaigns, reporters reached out to more than 300 of the biggest and most frequent small-dollar political donors and their family members. Through these interviews and consumer complaints, reporters collected the accounts of more than 50 unwitting elderly donors and traced the path of where their money went.

Often coming in $5 or $10 at a time, contributions from this small sampling of donors alone added up to more than $6 million over the last five years — the majority of which ended up with Trump and a long list of other Republican candidates, CNN found."

https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/imf- ... 024-10-22/
The International Monetary Fund on Tuesday raised its 2024 economic growth forecasts for the U.S., Brazil and Britain but cut them for China, Japan and the euro zone, adding that risks abound from armed conflicts, potential new trade wars and the hangover from tight monetary policy.

"Global growth is projected to be 3.2% in 2025, one-tenth of a percentage point lower than forecast in July, while medium-term growth is expected to fade to a "mediocre" 3.1% in five years, well below its pre-pandemic trend, the report showed.
Nonetheless, the IMF's chief economist, Pierre-Olivier Gourinchas, said the U.S., India and Brazil were showing resilience and a "soft landing" in which inflation cools without massive job losses had been achieved.

"It looks like the global battle against inflation has largely been won, even if price pressures persist in some countries," Gourinchas said in a blog post.

Yes.
I should have elaborated.
I sort of meant to ask what if anything would Harris try to accomplish in that small window of time?

My expectation is that she would perform her duties as President, and exercise her rights and fulfill her obligations as a candidate, in each accordance with the law.

To which she would be accountable.

Agreed. I don't see her doing a "I am going to Executive Order as many of my things as humanly possible before Trump gets here" thing that I think Gutter is wondering about.

But of course, if one is of the view that there is no possibility of a legitimate Harris win, then one would consider ANY actions she takes - in either capacity - other than concession (as a candidate) and transition planning (as the President) as illegitimate and (therefore) illegal.

I am sure it is just a coincidence that billionaires GOP megadonor Peter Thiel is an investor in Polymarket. Thiel is the big money donor behind JD Vance.

I was in the courthouse today in Lafayette County, MO. Early voting was going on and there was a line. I have never seen a line for early voting in rural Missouri before. We will drive up to Platte County Board of Elections office later this week to vote early. We have done this for the last 3 presidential elections, never seen a line. Actually, only once did we see another voter. It will be interesting to see what it looks like there.

No, this is simply analyzing the source of data, which is what all of us should be doing. It's called "context". But hey, if you feel so confident that the Dems will be decimated, you know where to go to place your bet. Go for it.
