So the ACC commissioner wants the NCAA to act on trial testimony. First - that's an enormous legal risk. Second - uh, be careful what you wish for, dude. Nike (Duke)/Jordan Brand (UNC) haven't yet had their day in the sun.
maryland though

don't get me wrong, your's was my first reaction as well...and it won't surprise me if his tune changes, should unc/duke become more directly implicated

Eh. Maryland is highly disposable.

As proof, I offer: Maryland is actually in the B1G, and you didn't even notice.

I haven't been following this at ALL due to my own litigation activities, but I'm guessing there were hearsay and/or relevance objections to the alleged texts/phone calls. Doesn't mean they are fake news, just means they weren't admissible for the purposes for which they were offered into evidence.

I noticed they are in the B1G - and if I am not mistaken I believe I also noticed they have a winning record in Basketball vs the Big 12 since they joined the B1G - and are .500 against the Big 12 in Football - including a win this season against a team someone who posts on here claims is/was far and away the best football team in the Big 12.
People besides me do notice that Maryland is in the B1G. Even if they are bottom feeders.

I agree. Nothing about the trial (vis a vis KU) will be resolved any time soon. Absent an affirmative statement from the NCAA that we can play him (which: LOL), I can't see us changing course now that we've officially put him on ice.

If he had no idea what was going on with his guardian, I really feel for the kid.
Either he just trains with Kansas and keeps the scholly or he looks to see if he could help a professional team.

Yeah, and that's frustrating. Because, assuming he really only did receive $2,500 (that's provable) he'd probably be suspended for fewer than 10 games...but because it will be years rather than months before the NCAA would ever make a ruling, this probably means he's done at KU, because I'm sure he'll go pro after this year.

When he said this stuff was a "blip on the radar," he was not minimizing the situation. In fact, because he "is military", what he really meant is that it was something that could be quite serious.

"We haven't lost a guy that way"

No shit, you're Nike's top dog, you'll match any offer out there. Hey, Coach K...no one's worried that you're getting cheated out of anything. It's the opposite.

Reminds me of the baseball players who used to say, "I'm not on 'roids, I workout all the time, you guys see how hard I train." No shit, you work out all the time, you take drugs that increase recovery and allow you to get increased benefits from increasing the intensity of your workouts. The teams that loose the fewest recruits are probably the ones cheating the most...so no shit K hasn't lost anyone that way, same way Cal hasn't.

Self and KU holding out SDS until things are clear. Don't think he'll play another minute for Kansas as of this very moment.
