i know that was a joke, but i really do want him to succeed. i’m just not convinced that he is what’s best for this team

I know we're looking at a small sample size and there was an extra 5 mins last night, but 2 straight games over 80. The core of Dotson/Agbaji/Lawson has been rather effective and I've thought all along that Dotson would be the key to any kind of March success.
I thought Grimes played better last night as well. Didn't shoot the ball well, but did things we haven't seen from him much like attack the lane and set up shots or offensive rebounds. His defense was also better. He had to dig in during overtime on that end of the court.

My guess is Bill knows whether he is or isn't. So he'll make the decision that's best for the team like he usually does.

Grimes played better last night? Than what?
Than his last 4 games where he's shot 7-23 and turned the ball over 10 times?
I guess?
Grimes was bad.
He didn't play better beyond the fact that he wasn't hesitant to shoot ( he did have a nice jumper when he wasn't thinking at the end of the 1st half to tie it, that's about all I can remember from him that he did well on offense ).
He certainly wasn't a stand out on defense ( hello Dotson ) - his man Kendric Davis was blowing by him left and right.

Grimes did have that nice pass to Och? on the fast break.
He's going to be good.
I'm OK if Vick takes the rest of the year off to take care of himself and/or his family.

If grimes was hitting his shots he'd look like a lotto pick. He's close. Hasn't been nearly as bad as many have made it out to be.

And Grimes did have several excellent defensive possessions last night in crunch time where he stymied a TCU attempt to get going. He just needs a few more inches on his shot. Never seen someone so consistently short on their threes before.

That almost always indicates tired legs. Maybe he's not getting enough time to recover, or hasn't adjusted to the grind of college ball. Hard to imagine that given the AAU schedule he's used to though.

He's not making good decisions.
He's not excellent at any one thing.
You shoot 38% from the field, 58% from the line, don't rebound well and don't disrupt much on defense?
I don't disagree that he'll be good in time.
His last good game was at Iowa State.
Since then he's shot 23 for 81 - 28%.
He's had 3 games where he's scored in the double digits.
Vick had 2 games where he didn't.
I may be assuming wrong but we are in the Vick thread and there's no way that you can argue Grimes is better on the court than Vick has been with a straight face.

Can I argue that as a team we play better with Grimes than we do with Vick?

What I'm learning from this thread is that the only way I'll win you over to my side of the amateurism debate is if Vick takes my side.

Get that $25 donation to a charity of my choice ready.

You can argue however you all please, I just disagree.
We were seconds away from loosing to TCU after scoring 67 points in regulation.
Because we beat them and the worst team in the B12 at home doesn't mean our problems are solved.
I'd argue we looked our best so far v Texas Tech.

I know this may be the wrong thread, but I see Grimes in a Wayne Selden like position. It may take another year or two to get going, but he will figure it out and make the league.
In other news, anyone know when/if Vick will be back with the team?

You are doing the same thing to Grimes that you are putting us all through the ringer on with Vick. Jussayin.
