He’s something like 11-8, right?
I think 12-8, but other than a bad two-year period, played very well. Played ahead or at seed except those two years.
3 times as a 3 seed he got to face the 11, except for when he couldn’t beat the 14 seed.
And got the 10 seed twice!
That’s 5 wins with a loss to the 7 seed
And 4 missed tournaments
Plus a first round loss to a 12 seed
You are judging by a blueblood curve. Or a curve that makes sense to someone that has a decent basketball program. Before the 2008 appearance, Baylor was an 8 seed in 1988, and previously in the 1950's tourney. Therefore, the last 70 years, Baylor had been to the NCAA's 10 times, 9 times under Drew. All victories in the NCAA's was under Drew in the last 70 years. In the 65ish years before Drew, Baylor had 3 victories in the NCAA, and was 3-6 overall in the tourney over 4 appearance. Since Drew, 12-8 over 9 appearances. So yeah, kinda doing okay for Baylor.

Oh, I don’t disagree that he’s done a phenomenal rebuild (or build) of the program. He has. I’m just saying his tournament results are not that impressive.

10-6 record overall by the higher seeded teams yesterday. Losses by a 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and an 8. Everyone is pretty vulnerable this year. To put it in perspective:
2021: 6 in first half of opening round
2019: 10 opening round wins by lower seeds
2018: 8 opening round wins by lower seeds
2017: 6 opening round wins by lower seeds
2016: 6 opening round wins by lower seeds
2015: 5 opening round wins by lower seeds
So it seems like the trend has been headed this way for a few years now. It will be interesting to see if today is a more chalky day. It always feels like there is one crazy day and a chalky day. FIngers crossed for KU to survive. Otherwise I am cheering for another crazy day.

It’ll prob be an ugly game, but we’re good at winning ugly games.
Turns out, winning by a possession or two in a first to 60 game counts as a W just as much as a meat necklace

I'm not a smart guy nor am I someone who is a good gambler so I am wondering why Gonzladygaga is a 33 point favorite against Nerfhoop State while Iowahwahpeddle is only -14 against the Giant Hole and Texass is only -8.5 against Stomach Jesus.
Just because I posted that it will probably come back to bite me and the Zags will win by more than 33, Grand Canyon will lose by less than 14 and Ab Christian will lose by less that 8.5.
My other thought is, why does the NCAA allow games to be wagered on when college kids who are not getting paid to play have a huge incentive to help out their families (and friends) and shave points?

I doubt that the ncaa has a say in whether or not sports books are allowed to accept bet on their games.

I don't know what say the NCAA has or doesn't have but I would think they would somehow some way have some say. Maybe not.
I do believe the NCAA doesn't allow athletes to bet on ANY games in ANY NCAA sport/s.
If so, I'm not sure why that isn't legally challenged.

I think all the talk about the timetable for Jalen's (and even Tristan's) returns has served as bulletin board material for Eastern Washington...add that to Jalen's actual absence, Dave's recent return, neutral court, etc., etc...it's going to be a battle. If KU comes out flat, like they do in almost all of their tournament losses, they're in some deep shit.

E Wash likes to play fast and that could very well play into our hands.
They are 6th nationally in FT% and 31st in 2pt%. Some very good metrics overall for a 14-seed.
I expect a sluggish 1st half, KU pulls away late and wins by a 10-15.
