Not sure we're really disagreeing, but what's really killed the Rose Bowl (which I agree wholeheartedly is the best bowl) is the CFP and the fact that the Pac 12 rarely has even one great team anymore (and, if there was one, it would get sucked into the CFP).

Maybe they just have a marketing problem. Between USC, Oregon, Washington, surely they have a team or two every year that could get killed as badly as the Big 10 always does.

Since 1998, there have been 3 consensus national champions combined between Big 10 and Pac-12. USC in 2003 and 2004 and Ohio State in 2014.

Generally speaking, I agree. I attended the Rose Bowl in 2015 and I have to say the CFP actually improved the quality of THAT Rose Bowl game. Until Oregon went and blew the shit out of FSU.
