FWIW I never grammar-police anyone unless the person is incorrectly doing so first.

the divisiveness is so incredibly evident even on here
It amazes me how quick people are to buy into the “Russian trolls as boogeymen” trope. Is it even remotely possible that two groups of people experience the same America differently? This is a cycle our country went through in the 1860’s when boatloads of Irish and Italian and Slavic immigrants were flooding New York and Boston. There is social unrest when large waves of immigrants bring about social change. When you add in the social changes caused by rapidly-advancing technology, you get the kind of sh*t storm we are in now. It will settle down. The country will survive. I repeat: this is nothing new.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:23 am https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... ce/606703/

There's no way the republican party could have dreamed that their appeal to and promotion of an ignorant, anti-science, low-information, anti-intellectual demographic, would pay such dividends.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:33 pmIt amazes me how quick people are to buy into the “Russian trolls as boogeymen” trope. Your insistence on labeling, belittling, and name-calling may make you feel powerful, intelligent, and superior, but it does nothing to further your point.Feral wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:43 pmThere's no way the republican party could have dreamed that their appeal to and promotion of an ignorant, anti-science, low-information, anti-intellectual demographic, would pay such dividends.HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:33 pmIt amazes me how quick people are to buy into the “Russian trolls as boogeymen” trope. So until then we should chalk it up to ignorami persecuting modern equivalent of the 19th century Irish, Italian and Slavic immigrants and affected parties just suck it up?? Didn't we learn anything from our past that our country is better than that?HouseDivided wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:33 pm When you add in the social changes caused by rapidly-advancing technology, you get the kind of sh*t storm we are in now. Not at all what I was saying, but thank you for so aptly illustrating my point. Society is a largely self-regulating ecosystem. We can nudge it in a certain direction, but when you try to force 90-degree turns, you get the same result you would expect when you overcorrect a turn in your car - not pretty. I’m sorry you feel that to be shame-worthy. Reality is not always palatable.zsn wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:11 pmSo until then we should chalk it up to ignorami persecuting modern equivalent of the 19th century Irish, Italian and Slavic immigrants and affected parties just suck it up?? You sound like the slave-driving PhD adviser who bullies his students because he was bullied as a grad student!
Shame on you, and those who think like you.
