At the 11 second mark is where Harris should have made the entry to Dave.

And yes, maybe Harris thought he could draw Askew in off Braun but Askew was like, nah, i'll let this dude be and he committed even more to guarding Braun.

Seems more obvious the morning after. Harris doesn't execute his first two primary reads, and then loses the ball out of bounds without being touched.

Granted, he was good for the majority of the game after a rough start, but I can't help but think if he had more in his offensive arsenal that he would have gotten a pass or shot off in that situation.

We were scouted very well (Beard and Snacks, duh), and played really well for most of game but the story of the game has to be the execution in the last minute of the halfs. What duds.

Don't throw the ball off the backs of your teammates who aren't looking at you.

And the turnover to end 1st half might also have been on Harris, or at least not fully on Jalen. Both guys were heading up the court right next to our bench listening to Bill call out the set. Hard to know where blame fully lies on that without knowing what was going on there in the coversation. I mean, Harris IS the point guard.

And then Bill goes full Pettiford.

Also with 2 minutes left in the game - clearly an and one.
"That's a foul every time, the officials just aren't calling it."

if the kids make their free throws in the last 2 minutes, we win.

Yeah that Jalen pass to Juan’s back, gross.

It was a split instant thing, and Jalen initiated the pass right at the second Dajuan turns up the court, so largely Jalen’s fault.

But that’s also if we are to give our pg a pass - no pun intended - for not knowing where the ball is coming up the court.

yes the children these days are very soft.

try as you all may to pin this loss on dh. you all are bending over backwards. but if the kids make their ft's down the stretch, we win.

Missed free throws, plays not executed (not just the last Dajuan TO but also that Dave lob that Och threw against the rim), the 0-fer Texas dood suddenly banking in a 3…

Comedy of errors

we played good enough to win on the road, in a hostile environment, against a top 20 opponent, in the dog days of the season, in the toughest conference in America. such is life in the toughest basketball conference in America.

You can't convince me otherwise that the Kansas Jayhawks did not get better last night. They showed toughness, how to overcome your AA being completely taken out of the game and still should have won if not for complete meltdowns to end each half.

This game made them better for March. Maybe not a better seed or losing a grip on the Big 12 title, but they got better for what ultimately matters to many people.

how does he not make that pass?
Because the original play was not designed for Dave (as it should not have been).

Both Dave and Harris driving were backup plans and Harris obviously saw something that made him feel like the defense would collapse and he'd have a kickout or dump off.

The play design was poor and the execution was poorer.

We need to do something better than throw the ball all the way out to Harris in the backcourt and have Och come get a handoff. We do it too much. Especially when Ramey is overplaying the hell out of Och.
i agree with all that

i just don’t understand the decision making by DH once the primary option was gone

Dave was wide open

I agree we got better as a team in the long run.
It was a good game in an environment stacked against them.
Would the W have been more beneficial for the B12 race and seeding, for sure.

But the refs were pretty bad ( ask Bilas ), Texas is pretty good and they needed to bank a 3 from a 32 percent shooter who had hit 14 3's all season to win.
