Four wins would be above my expectations. We haven’t had four wins in a long while.

Should have had 5 last year damnit.
Stupid Nicholls State fiasco and 2 bad holding calls on 2 long runs by Herbert against kstate that probably would have sealed it.

The real question is IF KU wins five games last year is Les Miles still the HC?

Yes. Rumors that places like CU were after Miles. Long wasn't going to let his #1 choice get away.

Agreed. New AD put Beatty right at the exit door.
I assume that is why he was canoodling with UT.

Yes. Long wasn't going to keep Beaty. Crowd support showed that he couldn't keep him. Les was Long's #1 target from when he was hired in July.
But even if it wasn't Les, there was going to be a new coach on the sidelines in Crimson and Blue in 2019.

Another good article from SI's Ross Dellenger on Les Miles. He's pretty connected with the Miles family.

The last part of the article.
Meanwhile, in the immediate future, his plans are clear. “The Kansas Jayhawks improve. They fight like hell and look for the next opportunity at victory,” he says before adding one final line.
“The Kansas Jayhawks are comin'.”
