Perhaps I'm not fully understanding the issue as I havent spent much thought on it. But, what is the big deal? That WAS our flag when we gained independence correct? Why are we not allowed to celebrate that? Because oppression and slavery existed? Are we supposed to forget the first 80 years of our country and not celebrate any of the good that happened during that time?
Uhhh, perhaps I got my history mixed up, but wasn't there something about an economic boycott back there in the years prior to the founding? Seems like the flag thing is as American as Tea Parties.

Who is not allowing anyone else to "celebrate" our flag?
Nike pulled their shoe with the flag due to the outcry. My question is why is there an outcry?

Not sure what this means. But the betsy ross flag in question was the official flag of the United states when we became independent. Unless I'm crazy, which is possible.

No doubt Nike pulled the shoe with the Betsy Ross flag in response to a predicted economic boycott of the product.
The Betsy Ross flag dates to 1777, while the boycott of tea from the British East India Company dated back to 1773. Much of the early plotting that eventually led to the Revolution happened around the boycott and the American colonials who smuggled tea. Economic boycotts are as American as the 4th of July--the flag came later.

Apparently the Betsy Ross flag has been appropriated by white supremacists and NIKE didn't want their Betsy Ross shoes appearing at some Charlottesville like rally on the feet of white supremacists.
Perhaps not the best advertising for NIKE. Who wants to be on the side of a corporation losing money?

No, according to CNN, they pulled it after complaints by Colin Kaepernick about its ties to the slave era in America.
Which, if you look hard enough, you can find something bad or some ties to something in every symbol and every product and everything in life. That's just trying to find something negative.

what I'd really like to know is, was that American flag shoe made in America?
or in an overseas sweat shop by some 8 year old?

No one in Trump's family has ever stood to attention in the service of the U.S. military, and he stands there today and acts as if he has anything to say about the people who ever served or serve now. Disgusting.
I went to a July 4th parade on a local street, a small parade with no bands, but a lot of decorated golf carts done up in hokey themes and thought that all over the country in small towns and big cities, people were doing the same for the 4th of July. Which is probably the best remembrance of the farmers and workers who fought in the Revolution, because they were likely a motley crew compared to their British counterparts and as unlike the show of military force as can be--the show that Trump tries to make this celebration about to aggrandize himself.

WTF is wrong with the MAGA crowd? If someone who is vehemently anti Trump says that ebola tainted blood is bad for you then they will shoot themselves up with it!
Pretty soon rodeo is the only ‘sport’ they will watch on TV

i’ll preface this by saying that i grew up doing rodeo, and have had horses, cows, goats, etc. throughout my life
but, most rodeo events are incredibly inhumane

First and foremost, the uniform.
Second Marvin and Mark Garrett are huge assholes.
Third, post event interviews
Fourth, any events that are judged are not a sport by my definition of a sport.
Fifth too long, too boring, too hot, and smell like shit.
Sixth, the way anyone who says bull riders overemphasizes both 'r's in riders like they're doing a sam elliot impression
Seventh, not sure if I mentioned this or not, wrangler jeans, cowboy hats, and Giant belt buckles.
