That is and would be a nightmare.
KU loses the home opener and all of the publicity, beer sales and catchy slogans in the world may not bring back the people who had bought in once Les was brought on board.

I was there too for the NDSU debacle. Also there for the game against GaTech the following weekend. What a bizarre 2 weeks.
I don't think there is much to worry about with this season opener, thankfully. Last year, that Nicholls team had some dudes who all played in a close game at A&M the previous year. This Indiana State team lost to L'Ville last year by 20+ and L'Ville was one of the worst FBS teams in football last year.
Kansas should have never lost that game last year against Nicholls, but they had an incompetent coach prepping them. This year, I think they have that area covered quite a bit better.

Imagine living in North Dakota when NDSU beat Kansas and the only thing most people know about you is that you're a Kansas fan. That was brutal, lol. There's more than just a few NDSU who truly believe that they are the best team in all of college football because of their titles. Completely unaware of the difference in FBS and FCS.
Being one of the leaders in the "play a real top tier team" movement, I received plenty of backlash after they "beat a Big 12 team".

Maybe there's a barometer now with ksu.

All I know is this: Terry Allen was a great 1-AA coach. Made the jump to the Big 12. Interested to see how Bluemont turns out.

I’d say Bohl is the one who built NDSU. He went to Wyoming and has not been good there in his 5 years.
And yes Gameball was pretty good at Northern Iowa. Really bad at Kansas.
I think Klieman might be OK. But I’d rather much have Miles.

NDSU had some freakish fortune recruiting QBs and TEs. But I still prefer Foles.

Season tickets arrived. Move in day was yesterday and first practice today. Football is here. Also Ben Miles joined the team. Might as well start measuring for the Natty rings now.

If he is a 'walk on' which I am assuming he is then he would be immediately eligible.

Yeah he’s a walk-on. He’ll be eligible. I believe all the Miles boys have been walk-ons to be open for this opportunity to join their dad I think.
The Jayhawks are coming.

Would you rather a 4 win season with blowouts in the first two non con and close wins v WVU and TTU OR a 3 win season with the same non con blowouts and a 28 point rout v ksu?

I’ll take the 4 wins

4 wins.
And I'm thinking they get there. I like them to win the first 2. They should win 2 of the home games against either WV, TT and kstate.

The WVU game is going to be a pretty big barometer.

I'd take the ksu blowout.
3 or 4 wins? Meh, bout the same football team right there.

Man, if KU wins that WVU game and is 3-1 after the first 4 games with a loss at Boston College, that's as successful of a start as you could ask for.

Four wins...
Have to win against ISU and CCU. The BC game could be a 50/50. If they make strides then wins against WVU and KSU should be in the picture.
Dream scenario KU is 3-0 heading into Sept. 21st against WVU.
For me Mile's first year isn't about the wins and losses. Is the football team making strides to build towards long term success. Are they eliminating penalties, turnovers, dumb plays and what marred the Beaty era...dumb decisions by the HC in general.
