Don't loose all your games before the bye week and you got a shot.

Go 2-2 and you are absolutely golden. Even 1-3 wouldn't be horrible because the AFC West stinks. Raiders go Packers, Texans, Lions and Chargers.
Chargers go Titans, Bears, Packers, Raiders

Schedule before bye with my predictions
Packers SNF Loss
Vikings Toss-Up (Sorry CnB, don't trust Cousins fully yet)
@ Titans W
Chargers Mex City W

At the bye Chiefs are 7-4 and in an ideal situation by my guess.

I think the Chiefs can win some games with Moore.

I don't see how we'd be favored in any of those games with Matt Moore ( or a 3 year absent Kap or Eli ).
Our defense, while excellent last night, isn't good.
And we have one of the worst QBs in the league with a subpar running game.

Packers better QB, better running game, better defense.
Minny better QB, better running game, better defense.
Titans wash on the QB, better running game, better defense.
Chargers better QB, maybe slightly better running game, wash on defense.

If there isn't a large chance of re-injury, sit him til week 13 v the Raiders and pray for a win somewhere in those four games.

I know the QB is important. But I think it's very different for the Chiefs having Kelce and Hill among others.

The offense will obviously change some, they'll probably run more, but I think the WR/TE/RB group is among the best skill groups in the NFL. All Matt Moore needs to do is get them the ball. Doesn't have to be great throws, just have to get them the ball and let them do their thing. (That throw he had to Hill on that drag wheel route was an absolute dime)

If we go 2-2 before the bye, i'd be shocked.
Very happy but also shocked.

And plays in Mexico City?
After last year they had to cancel because of field conditions?
No thanks.

Yeah 2-2 might be too much. But I think the Chargers stink doodoo. Minneosta could score 40 or they could score 4. Tennessee is also not very good. Denver just kicked their ass.

Especially with the bye right afterwards. Pretty obvious how this will play out.

Yeah, his first game back won't be Mexico City.

Can Andy Reid get Matt Moore to be like Kevin Kolb?

That's the big question. McNabb got injured in 2009. Kolb started 2 games. Went 62-96 for 65%. Had 4 TDs and 3 INTs and they went 1-1. If he can do numbers like that, that's a successful stint.

Andy Reid made Alex Smith a Pro Bowl QB. I think Moore can go at least 1-3

For all the people crying about the sneak, this was from 2017.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/211 ... t-qb-sneak
At that point Brady had run the play 120+ times and had been successful 90% of them. And hadn't been hurt on the play.
You'd think that he's probably run it 130+ by now.

These two things can both be true: (1) QB sneaks are not especially risky plays; and (2) you still shouldn't run sneaks with your FRANCHISE in the second quarter of a game against a shit team, and not even on the goalline for that matter.

Matt Moore has to be a poor man's Alex Smith. Game manager. Don't turn the ball over. When you have a shot you have to connect. The more frightening part is the defense and special teams are going to be even more important because Pat isn't there to hide their mistakes.

This is where you count and lean on a guy like Andy Reid. I'm not going to say his job got easier once Mahomes became Mahomes but now he is going to be counted on to deliver and keep this team afloat enough to make Mahomes coming back meaningful.

I told someone today if there is a one and a million chance to get your QB hurt on a play like that why even take the risk you are the 1%. The average says it was a fluke play and injury, which it was but it also could have been avoided. I'm almost positive behind closed doors Andy knows he was wrong and regrets that call.

I just realized my Nashville trip in November is now irretrievably fucked. Scratch that one off the list.

Damn, Fish. That sucks. Should still be a good game. But not see a once in a generation talent on the road in a cool city type of game.

Sounds like it's going to be 4-6 weeks (worst case).

"RB: If the patella came back to a perfectly centered position, it is likely that the medial ligament structures could heal without surgery. The timetable for return to play would likely be around 4-6 weeks."
