I guess he doesn't consider Carrie Fisher a strong independent woman.
I think of Carrie Fisher as more of a sad, pitiable woman.
I wouldn't wish her demons on anyone.
Her mother was a textbook narcissist, among other things. If half of the stuff in Postcards from the Edge is true, it is a miracle that Fisher wasn’t a basket case before she hit puberty. Very sad.

lol, well I was just talking about her character within the context of the SW films. I know she came from a really screwed up family.

Then I think you meant Princess Leia

I guess earning a PhD doesn't mean one has simple reading comprehension skills. I never was talking about Carrie Fisher, I was talking about her role as Leia. Some male feminists (Cassy) say I hate women when I've given examples of strong women roles that I liked (Princess Leia, Ripley from Aliens, etc.). The difference between these characters is that they actually had a story and things to overcome.

Why do you hate women, Lobs? It is so distressing to me!

You might not have meant to have been talking about Carrie Fisher, but that's what you wrote:

I wasn't saying it was getting political -- I was pointing out people just are throwing hissy fits because they don't like my political views (which are neither left nor right).
Cassy with his hilarious "I hate women..." rant. I guess he doesn't consider Carrie Fisher a strong independent woman.
I guess you meant to write Princess Leia, like I said.
I think you're the one with the reading comprehension skills...I'm quoting you.

Proving you like ‘strong independent’ women by referencing fiction characters is fucking fantastic. You can’t make this shit up.

Considering this thread is about fiction characters...

Exactly. You like ‘strong independent’ women as long as they’re fictional.

No. Judge Judy is a strong, independent woman who I admire a lot. Try again.
Here's one that's more your type. But she ain't "strong" -- she lacks total control.

Rotten Tomatoes score for ROS now lower than the Phantom Menace.
