So what you're saying is that while he could have given the award to the 100-year-old veteran he chose not to, and gave it Limbaugh instead.
Yes, thanks for pointing out the absurdity of it all.

I agree that Limbaugh doesnt deserve anything, hes an idiot and a blowhard.
But, why is the argument about the 100 year old veteran a Trump issue? Seems like every president since 1945 couldve given the award to him, every year, but didnt, yet this is the first I'm hearing about it being an issue.

IMO, the fact that Rush has done as much or more than anyone in the last several decades to divide the nation along nearly every line possible, especially racial, and there was a black man likely much more deserving standing not far away, but who wouldn't service Trump's racist base as nicely, is the "issue".
I'm generally reluctant to attribute motive, but giving Trump the benefit of the doubt is a ship that sailed some time ago.

He could've given the award to anyone he wanted.
It's got nothing to do with the 100 year old veteran.
Obama had 8 years to give him the award and didn't...where was the outrage then?

anybody catch it?
So far I saw Pelosi tearing papers then Trump snubbing a handshake
The handshake snub happened before the paper tearing.
It was better than his usual stuff (which I know isn't saying much). He stayed away from impeachment talk. He mostly told the truth.
The most cringe worthy moment to me was bringing in the soldier's family who was killed. I know this isn't that unusual, but I felt so bad for the teenager who clearly was distraught that his mom was crying. The mom seemed appreciative and happy to be there to be recognized for her husband's sacrifice, which is why she agreed I'm sure, but it felt a little bit like exploiting the armed forces for political purposes. I don't agree with using the sacrifice of our soldiers for stuff that like.
I couldn't tell if Rush was truly surprised or was just bad at acting? I thought it was mentioned before the SOTU started that it was going to happen?
Can someone explain why some of the Dems didn't clap or stand when they gave that girl the scholarship?
Pelosi has the weirdest mannerisms. Like she's chewing on her dentures?
Pence is creepy.
Grimace Pelosi has symptoms of somebody hopped up on uppers of some sort. The chewing and fidgeting are what you see in people who abuse Ritalin or other non prescription forms of speed. All of the bad plastic surgery doesn’t help, I’m sure.
While stimulants could be responsible, it's so far down the list of possibilities, it's almost laughable. But don't ever stop letting your ideology render you dum.

If Trump had never given any award yesterday, to anyone, we wouldn't be talking about it today. One person was given the award yesterday. Ask yourself if that one person was the most deserving person in that room to have received that award.
The discussion is not about whether that Tuskeegee Airman should have been given the MOH from any President. He's quite well decorated in his own right. However, the question is whether Limbaugh deserved the medal more than Col McGee. Now we know where Trump's priorities are

Thats a fair response.
Too often it seems trumps irrational behavior causes people to become irrational in their own right in response to his actions.

I only mentioned the Tuskegee airman because he was brought up by someone here. There are many people presidents have awarded that I dont believe were "the most deserving" person. I just dont remember such a negative response to any other such winners. Can call that the Trump effect I suppose.

You're probably right. Perhaps because the board liberals are hopefully smart enough to realize that pretty much every President since the "award" has been created has bestowed the honor upon undeserving people with "checkered" pasts?
Or maybe I am giving people too much credit that they don't deserve.
The Rush outrage being proof of people ignoring the others and primarily focusing on the piece of shit who gave the State of the Union last night? How dare they? I guess they should be labeled hypocrites.

Rush Limbaugh is a piece of shit. And he's done more to divide this country than anyone I can think of.
That being said, he did create something incredibly successful pretty much from scratch. Like him or not, he turned political talk radio upside down and developed a market that has thrived for several generations and created numerous copy cats. It's a fair bet FOX, OAN, Breitbart or any number of "conservative media" would not exist without Limbaugh.
He's as deserving of the medal as anyone who has had this type of impact on the media - like Larry Flynt or Howard Stern.

What all was he lying about? Because the fact checkers are always on him and just about everything he stated as stats were true.
Seriously, this isn't hard.

Key phrase underlined - I (and I assume others) are not talking about an entire universe of "deserving persons". Just in that narrow window........Rush is as undeserving as Col McGee is deserving. That's the reason for the negative response.

No, I reserve name calling for you. I don't name call very many people on this board (I can only think of 3 or 4 people I'd even consider name calling on this board).
When the KU Endowment people have students call alumni for donations, I had one young man whom I told I'd make a donation, but didn't give my credit card number out because he might be a scammer. He said he could answer questions and I told him that scammers would have learned facts about KU.
Then, it occurred to me to ask if he could sing the fight song. He said, "Well, I can only sing the first line."
I said, "Okay, you're a Jayhawk." We both laughed and he said he'd have to tell his supervisor the story.
