word
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

That’s fucking rad
Re: All time wins watch
Tremendous. Like I said in the game thread, having finally done it in our lifetime is sublime. Holding on to it will be difficult, but 99% will never get close.
Re: All time wins watch
I will get excited about “most wins” after the ncaa is done with us. and they don’t strip us of a bunch of wins.
Re: All time wins watch
We’re a game up on UK and 34 up on UNC, the next two winningest.
We could teeter totter with UK, perhaps, but Cal seems like less of powerhouse than he was a decade ago, and I don’t think it’s too homer-y to suggest Self will be more consistent for the foreseeable future?
and UNC would take a few seasons to catch up.
…that is, short of the ncaa bringing the hammer down.

Yeah, it would be a shame if they took away a bunch of wins cuz we played guys their own clearinghouse signed off on as Certified Amateurs, over and over again.

When Self leaves, we will be up on UK, but keeping the lead will be tricky.

Re: All time wins watch
I just noticed that Bill Self is now at 761 all time wins after starting the season at 729 wins. That means that he passed the following coaches this year on the all-time list:
John Cheney 741
Phog Allen 746
Bo Ryan 747
John Beilein 754
Henry Iba 755
Ed Diddle 759
Pretty cool to see him pass Phog Allen; I don't recall Kansas recognizing this but maybe I just missed it.
John Calipari started the season 13 wins ahead of Self and is now just 7 ahead.

Re: All time wins watch
Put it on the "KU fans complain about the media" thread, and maybe things just won't stick until the Roys/Ks/Boeheims have fully exited, but: Bill somehow does not get due as an all-timer right this very moment.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:16 am I just noticed that Bill Self is now at 761 all time wins after starting the season at 729 wins. I know he needs a second title (and then more would help), so hopefully that can be cleaned up in the next few days.
Re: All time wins watch
Self has averaged 29 wins season while at Kansas. Six more seasons like that and he will be third all time behind just Boeheim and Coach K.jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:26 amPut it on the "KU fans complain about the media" thread, and maybe things just won't stick until the Roys/Ks/Boeheims have fully exited, but: Bill somehow does not get due as an all-timer right this very moment.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:16 am I just noticed that Bill Self is now at 761 all time wins after starting the season at 729 wins. Remember when John Cheney went after Calipari during a post-game presser and told him he was going to kill him?twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Mar 30, 2022 9:16 am I just noticed that Bill Self is now at 761 all time wins after starting the season at 729 wins.
